I think you’ve overshot the intended target. The guy you quoted is actually a Packers fan, who I’d guess doesn’t harbor ill will towards the Steelers. Fans of 32 teams are roundly criticizing Roethlisberger and calling for a suspension. Fans of one team are defending him.
Now you tell us whether you think that means everyone is out to get Roethlisberger because he’s a Steeler or if it means some Steelers fans are deluded into believing three women have accused this guy of a crime in three unrelated incidents and he’s been unfairly targeted and innocent of all crimes.
If it were just one allegation there would be more doubters.. And there were, in fact. A year ago when there was just one “incident” many people cast a doubtful eye towards it. But as time goes on and more women come forward, it becomes more evident that there’s something to it.
Is it a “vast right-wing conspiracy”, Hillary? Or did Bill do unspeakable things with a cigar and an overweight intern in the Oval Office? I guess it depends on perspective.

Many people are saying that by suspending/punishing these players that it will be “open season” for blackmail or whatever else you want to call it.
Here’s a thought. Quit putting yourself in these types of positions. Maybe Ben did no wrong, but when was the last time you walked into a room with your pecker out and said, “go ahead, play with it.” Seriously, guilty or not, Ben is kinda creepy.
As far as Foster is concerned, simply take the dental kit and don’t have the woman in your room. Call maintenance to fix your sink. It’s pretty simple, you just have to be smart about the situations you put yourself in now.

On a scale of 1-100, Ben’s fame factor is around 70 on a good day. And he doesn’t make as much as Michael Redd or an over the hill MLB middle reliever. And he’s a fat slob. So isn’t he an odd “target” for gold diggers?
Why is Lebron never targeted? Or Jeter? Or anyone else in history to the level Ben, a small market C-list celeb, targeted?
That’s where it doesn’t pass the smell test. If you could provide ONE example of a guy who is consistently “targeted” like this, so many times over a short timeframe, I could see your point.

I agree Hamburglar, I havent read the story yet, and I am not jumping to conclusions.
I know how the media, left out key pieces of the Ben case, people are still saying that his bodyguards drug that girl to the BR and that is not true, and things of that nature. If people would read the actual police report they would see this was BS. I hope the actual facts come out on this on also, I never passsed judgement on Irvin and that was his seond or 3rd accusation, so this could be the same.
I do not whish any trouble to a team.
But now people are seeing this can happen to anyone, even the backup players. If Goodell wants to send a message he needs to make it clear that Ben is not being suspended for the accusations themselves , it is for his bad judgement and putting himself in these situations.
But sorry Haters those are the facts, Ben did not rape that girl, no more than I have a feeling that Foster, raped this girl, but I will wait for FACTS, Not what the media wants you believe to keep you reading. Lot of things get left out. They have on Bens accusation, and I am sure the media will spin this one also.

This is sad. I don’t doubt a lot of rapes happen. I know they do. But all women and the accused should take a polygraph. Period. Their was a book years ago called “Pros and Cons” that stated some large percentage (off the top of my head 50% to 75%) of NFL player have some criminal past. I think they should do a verision 2 of the same book now.
