As if all Steeler fans see things in a myopic manner. I’ve actually read and talked to many Steeler fans who say, 2 rings be damned, get rid of him, he and this current crop of players are disgracing the Steeler name and everything the Rooney’s have worked for. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it is that you can’t generalize or broadstroke a group of people when trying to hammer home a point. I’m sure there are just as many Ravens fans, Browns, Bengals, etc. who think that something may have gone on, but if no crime was committed and no charges filed why is he getting suspended by the NFL? Why doesn’t Goodell put it in the hands of the Steelers and make the clubs accountable for the behavior of the players? The club gets a fine too correct?
The NFL basically saying “F it, let’s nail him anyway based on witness accounts whether they are factual or not” sets a very dangerous precedent that could land them in court as well if a player who loses game checks is found completely innocent of the charges that were tried through the media. If the NFL suspends Ben, I guarantee they will end up in a briar patch sooner than later. Say they suspend a guy based on an accusation of misbehavior and he’s gone for 4 weeks. First game back from suspension, he tears his knee career over and accusations proven to be fabricated. Guy cannot be at team facility while on suspension so he cannot properly train under team supervision and bam, career over on an assumption of guilt. Tell me you wouldn’t sue the league for lost potential earnings.
The NFLPA HAS TO APPEAL ANY NFL SUSPENSION IN A CASE LIKE THIS, OTHERWISE, WHY HAVE A UNION
Only 2 people know what actually transpired, several have a good idea and were in the bar, but everyone has an opinion. And the NFL gets to play judge, jury and executioner.
I know it was a different regime, but Ray Lewis witnessed at the least, a double murder. Javon Walker witnessed a drive by shooting and was involved in the events that led to it. How did they not get suspended?

They can’t really make a deal until the suspension is made known so, I wouldn’t rule out a draft-day trade.
I’d bet he could be had for a 3rd or 4th pick. I’d give that up to have a good backup QB. I wouldn’t want him to be the face of my franchise though.

Huge Steeler Fan here but I have had it with Ben. I don’t know why the media does not talk about how many of his teammates can’t stand him. I have heard first hand from many current Steelers how bad they hate Ben and how he is disrespectful to the coaches. The Rooney’s need to get rid of him. Oh yeah, Jaguars fan, so no stake in the game. The statements and police report are pretty damning, but they did not see enough to take it further. He may very well be a turd, but face it. Look at him. If he did not play qb in the NFL and did not have 2 rings, would he even be in a position to get the girls? If not for those factors, he’d have been booted out of the bar before he had the opportunity. 28 year old oafs seldom get sorority scooch unless they have a bag of weed or some blow on them.

Wasn’t the girl wearing a shirt with a nametag that basically said she was looking to hook up that night? I bring this up because Ben was constantly mentioned having a shirt that said he drinks a lot of beer and got railed for it.
What I need is for some Butler student who hates the Colts to set up Peyton Manning, accuse him of assault, then retract 2 weeks later and drop the accusations.
They had 570 plus pages of testimony and witness accounts and could not bring it to trial? I knew they were done when the tape was amazingly recorded over.
Bottom line is this. The NFL should not suspend him, it should be the Steelers call. The NFL sets a very dangerous precedent going on conjecture and heresay in this case. But the reumblings of double standard are already rearing their head so I guess Goodell has to act.
(Not a Steelers fan by any stretch) but remember when the Bus was accused of rape and it was later determined to be a blackmail attempt? Couldn’t you put him in the same wrong place wrong time argument?
Or locally here in Jax, it was a well known story that a bunch of the players would get together at one player’s house (Kevin Hardy) and there’d be this absolutely insane bender/orgy. Nothing but mattresses and alcohol and other substances throughout the pad. Kinda a White House Duval style. People knew, they just turned a blind eye to it because the Jags were new and winning.
One thing’s for sure. Ken Stabler, basically the 60′s and 70′s Oakland Raiders, Namath, Hornung, and Bobby Layne never would have survived in today’s NFL.

All we can read about this supposed incident are the distorted and obviously untruthful comments of the drunk dipshit with a bruise on her crotch. Ben should be filing charges for inadequate representation and vicious slander.

Let me see if I understand how this all works:
-Underaged Sorority Sisters go out for a night on the town with their ‘Down to F***’ tags on.
- Girls follow Superstar athlete from bar to bar and flirt with him while trying to get his attention from other revelers.
- Girls go back into VIP room with posse of men and drink shots/drinks til the wee hours of the morning.
-Two of the girls are removed from the VIP area for being too inebriated.
- One girl is escorted (Not dragged) to the rest room area.
- Superstar goes back to vissit/fool around with girl (NO ONE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENS HERE).
-Girl leaves bar and heads down the steet.
-Girls S.Sisters bring her to police officer claiming rape althoug the ‘Vitim’ says no.
-S.Sisters give most of the story even though they WEREN’T EVEN IN THE VIP AREA WHEN ANY OF THIS SUPPOSEDLY HAPPENED!!!
- All WITNESSES to the events in question claim nothing untoward happened.
- Girl changes her story the next day to align with the story from the girls who weren’t there.
- Girl and her lawyer refuse to call police back or respond to requests.
- Girl and her advisors write letter to request that the case is dropped.
-Superstar athlete isn’t even charged with anything and prosecutor says “There wan’t even Probable Cause”.
- Superstar athlete is dragged (Yes, this time there is dragging) through the coals by a media who thinks that he must be guilty because some gold digger in Nevada accused him in another case 9 months prior.
- Everyone wants to trade the Superstar athlete.
Just wanted to make sure I understood everything. This is F-ing unbelievable. Go ahead and dispute anything written above, it is all in the case file. None of this is made up, it just isn’t being reported this way.
