Kyle Wilson's stock on the rise

Boise State cornerback Kyle Wilson’s stock has seemed to be on the rise since a very good Pro Day performance in late March. But his stock may be rising even higher than anyone thinks.

Charles Robinson of Yahoo reported today that Wilson could be the first cornerback drafted, and that many teams like him better than Florida’s Joe Haden.

Following up on Robinson’s report, Michael Smith of ESPN tweeted that Wilson could go as high as seventh overall, where the Cleveland Browns are drafting.

Per Robinson, teams think Wilson is better than Haden in man coverage, has more lateral quickness and changes direction better.

Our last mock draft had Wilson going 19th overall. As draft day gets closer, his chances of going high in the first round appear to be getting better.

He has been moving up since the Senior Bowl. He was a standout there and his pro day just confirmed it.

19th overall sounds nice until you consider that ATL just signed dunta robinson. try 17th 18th or 20th. there are some teams who need a CB

Charles Robinson could go seventh in the draft?
Only if Marv Levy has the pick, I suppose.

I have an unnamed source, who sources tell him that they have a close source within multiple organizations that have completely taken Kyle Wilson off their boards.
POW! I could work for this site.

Did you say a good man corner???? Al Davis is all over it! What was his 40 time???

I’d take him on the Giants for sure.

Damn, I wanted him or Brandon Graham at 23 for the Packers before the Senior Bowl and they did nothing but watch their stocks soar. Good for them, terrible for us.

    Houston could use him

TT is going FB or NT at 23. Haven’t you watched his last 5 drafts?

Well schau3r don’t count the Pack out. Remember they traded for Clay Matthews last year. Don’t be completely shocked (just a bit) if Ted tries moving up a bit should Wilson be in good range.
It is, VERY unlikely the Pack will go after an OT first round. Unless someone drops alot, Pack will probably draft OLB or maybe even a CB. So Wilson is a possibility if he doesn’t get snagged super early and in a good position to trade up a bit. Ted will probably keeping an eye on the situation and be ready if a chance opens up.

    Dam, wasn’t done writing.
    Anyways to continue,
The reason why I strongly believe Pack will not take an OT in the first round is because our line is not in that bad of shape. We are healthy again, and last year we were not. I know we don’t know how long we will be healthy but instead of having Colledge at Tackle (which was brutal), we can have Lang. Colledge does a lot better at guard so we need to keep him there. If Colledge does go down, Lang can fill in there too.
So if Colledge goes down and Clifton or Tauscher does too we can still be ok. Because we certainly will be drafting an OT, just not in the first round.
Look it’s tough to be a super bowl team if you get unlucky with injuries. The good teams can still fight and be successful, but with a lot of injuries, even the good teams can fall a part. So barring an injury plagued o line, the line should be a major improvement from last year.
Tauscher will be decent if he stays healthy.
Clifton will be decent if he stays healthy.
Colledge will be a lot better than last year now that he’s at his normal position.
Those are our 3 concerns at o line. If all 3 get hurt, yes of course it’s going to get ugly. But it can’t get much uglier than last year and we were still having a ton of success. In fact, what lost us that playoff game had to do more with defense. Of course in overtime, the few plays that we ran, the blocking was like usual, bad and may of been why we just missed Jennings in the middle. But for the most part we still managed with a terrible line. If we don’t get mauled with injuries all over the line again, it will be a lot better, and that could mean even more success with our offense.. which would be scary.
And think to, some of those sacks are attributed to Rodgers holding onto the ball. A year to work on that, I’m sure with McCarthy’s expertise in QBs that they will have improved that greatly. But I sure hope that we don’t see more interceptions now because Rodgers would be getting rid of the ball earlier but that remains to be seen.
My point is, we draft one OT in the draft (not too late but not first round we should be ok). That allows us to improve some spots on defense.. OLB, CB, S.

I never did understand why all the love for Haden. He wasn’t exactly a great shutdown guy at Florida. He didn’t really show all that well at the Combines, blamed it on a back issue, and then improved his 40 time at his pro day, but still looked pedestrian in drills.
Kyle Wilson and Devin McCourty are better overall corners than Haden, in my opinion.

Who’s your source? Anyone can say they have sources that have sources that have sources. You really don’t sound credible since there are several reports that have Wilson going early.
