Bears may consider Josh McCown

Those playing connecting-the-dots have wondered if Marc Bulger could reunited with his ex-coach Mike Martz in Chicago.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune writes that Martz could reunite with another quarterback from his past. Josh McCown, who backed up Jon Kitna in Detroit in 2006, has reportedly been considered by the team.

We’re a little surprised. McCown didn’t take to Martz’s system quickly, failing to challenge Kitna for the starting job. By November of that year, Martz tried McCown out as a slot receiver.

The Bears aren’t expected to draft a quarterback this week, so look for them to pick up some veteran soon thereafter.
