Report: Cowboys to host Saints on Thanksgiving

Dallas finally has an opponent on Thanksgiving the rest of the country can get excited about.

The Cowboys will host the Saints this year on November 25, according to WDSU in New Orleans.  Dallas faced Seattle and Oakland on Thanksgiving the last two years.

The Cowboys handed the Saints their first loss last season in a game on NFL Network.

As Florio points out over IM — while he’s on the radio — this news is a sign that the NFL has listened to criticism about their Thanksgiving schedule.  In the past, our theory was that a “captive audience” would give the league big numbers no matter what the matchup was.  So they stuck us with dogs.

WDSU also revealed the Saints will play nationally televised road games in San Francisco September 20and Atlanta on December 27.

The early Thanksgiving game will feature Detroit and New England.

This is actually a good move for once on Thanksgiving day, a relevant game. Now we don’t have to watch the cowboys bash a hopeless team like Oakland. Should be an interesting game to say the least. Wouldn’t it be some egg on Jerry’s face if the Saints come in there and whoop that cowgirl ass on National TV. I mean it’s been since 2005 that the cowgirls lost on that day. Won’t be so easy this time! It’s been since 2006 since they won a playoff game!

    @jackygayass
dude relax, have a drink, get laid or something. just calm the nerves man. way to intense over your jealousy of the cowboys.
    GO COWBOYS!!!

keep dreaming dallas….barely won while we had a bad day. Let see how you guys stack up when we actually play the other three quarters. Domination! TWODAT BEOTCHES!

Finally, a Thanksgiving day game that I don’t already know who is going to win before the season starts. And if they are going to keep the Lions on T-day tradition alive, at least make them play someone with a similar record the year before.

Ilovefoolsball, its past time for you to put the crack pipe down.

Is it the late game???? It needs to be the late game. I’ll have the early game on, but I’ll be cooking and hosting and then playing football outside with the kids, so I’ll miss it. And if they’re finally running a decent game on Thanksgiving, I don’t want to miss it. So I really hope this is the late game when everyone, including me, just collapses around the TV.

This is gonna be great. A great Thanksgiving dinner and witching the cowturds getting their asses handed to them all in one day.

Finally, a game on Thanksgiving that might actually be worth watching

  18. NOwillrepeat says: Apr 20, 2010 6:54 PM

Funny how cowgirl fans forget that the Saints smoked them 5 strait times before last year. Including a 42-17 undressing in 2006 in Dallas.

  19. eaglelover1 says: Apr 20, 2010 6:58 PM

Hate to say this but the Cowboys are going to crush the Saints. Saints and all those turnovers last year = the Bears after getting thrashed by the Colts in the SB.

  20. Bigbluefan says: Apr 20, 2010 7:22 PM

saints are done they shot there load last year
Its Thanksgiving so its only Nov Romo will do well in Nov its Dec when he chokes

  21. Wukong says: Apr 20, 2010 7:33 PM

    @ eaglelover1
That comparison literally makes no sense whatsoever.
Anyway, Saints will destroy Dallas. Cowgirls got lucky and hit the Saints when they were tired and trying to keep a tremendous win streak alive.

    sept 26: at texans win
    october 10: vs titans loss
    october 17: at vikings loss
    october 25: vs giants loss
    october 31: vs jaguars win

    nov 14: at giants loss
