Giants running back Brandon Jacobs often appears to take things personally in interviews.
So it really doesn’t surprise us that he told WFAN and Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger Wednesday that he would be insulted if the Giants drafted Clemson running back C.J. Spiller.
Luckily for Jacobs, we think there is very little chance Spiller will be available when the Giants pick at No. 15. But the persistent chatter about Spiller in New York does make some sense.
Jacobs had a very disappointing 2009 season, and he may have to improve his play to justify his salary in 2011.
Don’t be shocked if the Giants insult Jacobs with a running back in the middle rounds of the draft.

Hey Brandon, do you REALLY think that your coaches, teammates or fans give a damn as to whether you would be insulted or not?! What exactly have you done so wonderfully in your career that would make them be “threatened” by your being “insulted” by them taking a running back who is infinitely faster than you. What you SHOULD be concerned about, as opposed to your glass-like feelings, is that the Giants select a player who can help your team win another Super Bowl. If that happens to be another running back, then embrace the notion.

F*ck Brandon Jacobs feelings. I’ve been saying since day 1 that he should have been converted to DE or TE from the start. His career is going to be over in a year or two, as soon as his knees give out. He runs too high for the NFL. I think the Giants have plenty of RBs on the roster though, so don’t look for them to draft another one this year.
He seems to only get up for Cowboys week. The other 14 weeks he’s Brenda Jacobs.
