Chiefs choose Eric Berry

Though some thought that the Chiefs would shy away from a non-lineman, they’ve opted to go for arguably the best defensive player in the draft.

Eric Berry of Tennessee has been selected with the fifth pick in the draft.

It was rumored that the Eagles could try to trade up to get Berry.  Moving forward, keep an eye on the Eagles possibly making a move up for Earl Thomas.

Some league insiders believe that there’s not much of a gap between the two players.  Time will tell.

Yet another miss by ‘The King of Missteps’ egoli with yet another poor draft choice as Jackson…
    dinkleberry = BUST
Another 16 losses appends 2010 – egoli’s last year in KC!

The one thing about him is that he tackles like Roy Williams sans the horse collar. That may play in college but if you try to knock a RB out and don’t wrap him up, you can bet that you’ll be getting your ass chewed out by the DC and HC when you get back to the bench when he keeps on going and you’re looking stupid.

It’s always good when you pick one of the best prospects in the draft and he also fills one of your biggest needs. This is a great selection by the Chiefs!

Great pick. The kid brings serious swagger to a defense desperately in need of an identity.

Icon/Herms an Idiot, you spew the same tired crap everywhere you go. We got you run from Gretz’s blog, but you still haunt The Star and occasionally here much to everyone’s chagrin.
You really need help dude, there’s something seriously wrong with your gourde.

I thought I recognized “Herm’s the Man” with that idiotic post! Branching out from the KC Star message boards huh? Moron!
    Great pick!

I think this is a good pick…It was smart to draft defense, plus I think I have a couple ways to upgrade the offensive line, one way would allow them to use both 2nd rd. picks in other ways.
If the Chiefs did move B. Albert to RT and sign Flozell Adams (ala Willie Roaf) it would be a great move. Sign him to a 2-3 year with most money in year one, and could cut him next year if he is washed up with minimal damage to the cap. Hell, we are no where near the salary cap ceiling so we can spend it. Rookie possibilities are C. Brown(USC) or B. Campbell(Maryland) even though he scares me as a workout wonder but not a football player(V. Gholston). Rookie OT’s who were thought to be in 1st are dropping.
    LT F. Adams/ B. Albert/ Rookie
    LG B. Waters
    C C. Wiegmann/ J. Sullivan
    RG R Lilja
    RT B. Albert/ Rookie
This draft is not over we still need 3-4 more starters!!!

Icon/Hermstheman is so predictable. He’d be on here spewing the same line of garbage regardless of who the pick was. He’s an unimaginative troll with a one-note agenda; an arrogant punk who’s a complete waste of flesh….
You know, he reminds me a lot of Larry Johnson in that respect….

    Ignore the troll!
This is a fantastic pick for the Chiefs. Berry’s presence immediately changes the dynamics of the Chiefs’ defense.
I really thought KC was going to go Okung after the Trent Williams selection by Washington. But while Okung brings stability, Berry brings IMPACT and profoundly effects the team in a way that selecting Okung would not have.
Having a great safety is such a difference maker on defense these days. Just look at the Super Bowl winners this decade. All of them, except for the 2007 Giants, had a Pro Bowl quality safety that was a major impact defender and key to the defense’s success. In a pass-happy league, safeties are becoming a premium position, and the Chiefs recognized that when they took Eric Berry as high as they did.

Must agree with Doc Fluty. PFT. Ban the idiot icon. I also stopped reading the kc star thread because of this d-bag. He’s got to have some sort of mental disability. Good pick up for the Chiefs, will only make Flowers and Carr that much more effective.

Berry baby. Great pick. Ignore the troll, that shits funny. Icon is an idiot.
