Gosselin’s final mock has some surprises

With all due respect to the Mayocks, McShays, and Kipers, the gold standard for mock drafts as far as media types are concerned comes from Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News.

And Gosselin has made his final statement on the first round in 2010.

The first surprise, albeit mild, comes from the Redskins. Gosselin has them taking Russell Okung instead of Trent Williams.

Here’s a bigger one. Gosselin has the Dolphins taking a receiver. And not Dez Bryant. Gosselin says the Dolphins will pick Demaryius Thomas. (Bryant, under Gosselin’s board, falls to No. 27, to the Cowboys.)

The first running back taken? Not C.J. Spiller, but Ryan Mathews. To the Seahawks at No. 14.

And amid plenty of buzz that each of Jon Gruden’s quarterback pupils could be picked in round one, Gosselin has only two -- one at the top, and one near the bottom.
