Jeff Fisher says "door is shut" on a trade for Albert Haynesworth

The Titans made a run at swinging a trade that would have brought defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth back to Nashville.

And it’s not gonna happen.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that coach Jeff Fisher said the “door is shut” on a deal with the Redskins.

The Vikings potentially remain in play.  The Lions surely are out of the picture, after drafting Ndamukong Suh.

I wish the Redskins could get fair value for all their malcontents, but it looks like they’ve blown all their leverage.
I hope Shanny whips these losers (Haynesworth, Landry, Rogers, McIntosh) into shape.

Translation: “We want Fat Albert back, but Washington is asking for way too much.”

Um, that door closed the minute Tennessee said the best they would offer was a 3rd rounder.

Fish made those comments in conjunction with the 1st round pick, a defensive lineman., not a tackle, but an end.
I believe those comments are just Fish being Fish, a lot of coach speak. Fisher would never show his hand. I’ve watched him behave this way since 97. He is the ultimate politician. If he wants to run for govenor after he leaves football, I imagine he would win easily.

What makes you think McIntosh is a loser. He’s been one of the few warriors on that defense the last few years. Landry was drafted as a SS and moved to FS after Sean Taylor was killed. It was only supposed to be a temporary move. When Gibbs decided to not fulfill the last year of his contract, it was loser Ceratto who decided to keep Landry at FS and to draft Horton at SS. LeRon was a SS in college and he would be a SS on every other team in the League. Only losers like you who know nothing about the Redskins or the NFL make such general assumptions about players without objective analysis. True, Haynesworth is not worth his contract but anyone who follows the NFL knows he is one of the 10 best DL in the League when motivated. The only loser here is you.

virtue you hit the nail on the head! the talent is there its just not being used correctly, you can tell laron would have pro bowl potential. he flies around the field like polamalu but is in the wrong position. and mcintosh is a lesser known player who is going to be a pro bowler some day playing next to london(who finally got the credit he was due after being snubbed for years). I think if they can get rid of haynesworth for a 2nd round pick and pick up a good de who can play the 3-4 end position they can be successful next year. I think shanny knows what hes doing.

As much as I can not stand Fat Al, I am glad no teams want him. Maybe that will send him some type of message to stop being such a pain in the ass, shut his mouth and play ball. You have been paid and paid alot. SO GET TO WORK.

So you’re saying the door was once “not shut”? that would make Shanahan… a liar! say it ain’t so…

Even though Haynesworth is a huge pain in the ass, the Redskins were never going to give him away for a 2nd rounder. If anyone thought they would get him for nothing they were dreaming.

It will need to be multiple picks or a player + a pick. You’re not going ot get this guy on the cheap. Hail!!
