Of course, you do realize that even back then, there was NO restriction on a team from I-AA being voted into the I-A Top 25, do you? In fact, it HAS happened and the teams that got votes actually BEAT I-A teams and not just a lot of I-AA teams. They didn’t get the votes then because they didn’t prove anything and when they moved up to I-A and went 0-2 against BCS schools and had their ass kicked by a school in an INFERIOR I-A conference, Miami (OH). I find it funny that you’re crapping on Bryant when the team lost all 4 games to RANKED teams (3 in the Top 5) while Marshall lost 2 games to UNRANKED teams and one to a ranked team, #5 West Virginia.
Finally, the QB that led them to the NC that year was a transfer from D II, Florida. Oh wait, make that D I-A, Florida.

Yes, TRY TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT when you lose the argument. You obviously think that people here are too stupid to understand that you screwed up when you tried to say that Randy took a team of mostly DII to the Top 25. Buddy, that team was a powerhouse before him and after him. They lost in the D 1-AA championship game WITHOUT MOSS, the year before or did you not find that fact out in Wikipedia? Did you not even see that I pointed out that the team WAS 15-0 and won it in 1996 in D 1-AA in that message? If he had taking D II material to the Top 25 in D 1-A, you might have a point but NOT in this case. Their 1997 trip to the championship game was their 5th in 6 years and it was their 2nd title during that time. You’re rull of crap to say that the team was made up of D II material and they proved it before he was there and after he was there.
There’s no doubt that Randy was a great player but he screwed himself because of his drug use. Hell, the two best WRs on that Viking team had drug problems and that’s why they were there, in the first place (Buddy Ryan did Carter a big favor by taking the hit and looking foolish for saying that he got rid of Carter because he “only caught TDs” when he could have told everyone abuot his drug problems).

Ahem. Randy Moss played ONE season in Div I-A. Their best season came in the previous one when they played in I-AA and were 15-0. They went 10-3 in his ONLY season in I-A and were NEVER ranked in the Top 25. They did make the Top 25 when they went 13-0 but that was TWO YEARS after Moss had left town.

You’re kidding, right? They lost 4 games with a MUCH EASIER schedule last year. In 2008, they played 4 teams that were in the Top 5 when they played them (Missouri, Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma) and another, Oregon, that was 17th. In 2009, Georgia was rated 10th when they played them and Texas was rated 3rd. The only other decent opponent was Houston, which wasn’t rated at that time. They nearly lost to Colorado and they were shut out by an Oklahoma team that lived off its defense all year long. If they had played the same kind of teams as they did the year before, they would have had 6 or more losses and no bowl.

I wonder who edgy is a fan of? How did OK State fair the last two years? The same. Thats right with Bryant they had 4 losses and without Bryant (for the majority of the season) they had 4 losses. The guy couldn’t have been that much of an asset if they didn’t fall flat on their faces without him. He may not be a Heyward-Bey, but he isn’t a Randy Moss either who actually made a team a top 25 team with DII talent. He is a very good receiver, but he doesn’t scare anyone in the league where everyone is fast and big. Bottom line is that Jerrah isn’t addressing needs and he is going to lead his team back to a 5-11 record. I for one will love it. Hail!!

What gets me is that nearly all of Bryant’s detractors never saw him play because if they had, they’d understand how stupid they look with the crap that they’ve said about him. He and Crabtree were 1 and 1a in the Big 12 and he’s the real deal.
He played three games and yet, led the team in average yards per catch and TD catches and was second in yards receiving. Without him, Zac Robinson’s senior numbers were way down and they weren’t the same team offensively. He does things on the field that a lot of receivers won’t do. He’s NOT scared to go over the middle and he will take the hit and keep on going. Now, there are guys that will go over the middle but they just pass through and if they get it – fine – but he will CAMP in the middle and wait for the ball to get there and expect to be smacked and NOT be afraid to do that.
Dallas got the player that they should have waited for instead of panicking and going for Williams or just letting Miles Austin into the lineup like they should have. He’s NOT a Darrius Heyward-Bey, who is useless because of the speed and no hands and his so-called character issues won’t be a problem.

You know what is great? Jerry running a draft for the rest of the NFC East. He didn’t address a single need and it is going to show on the left side of the line when homo is on his back for four quarters. Dez Bryant is a good receiver in college, but he hasn’t played in a year and who knows what he will be like in the pros. Can’t wait for september 12th when the SKINS roll on them cowgurls.

They got the name in the 70s from one of the NFL Films guys. A lot of the team members didn’t like it when they got it because they knew it would put a bigger bullseye on them. You may want to do a little research before you advertise your “depth” of knowledge….

The reason for it was because of the following the cowboys have bandwagon or not. You are correct about rookie WR, they are no guarantee but when you can get a top 5 talent with the 24th pick you take him. The kid can flat out ball.

So many Cowboy Haters here its so pathetic. There is no way Dallas could not pass up on Dez Bryant at that point in the draft. There were teams that did not have the need for a WR and most of the other players they were targeting were gone. Once Earl Thomas was taken, and a few OL were taken, to move up 3 spots and just exchange a 3rd for a 4th, its a no brainer.
Im not even a Dallas Fan, but the logic of the move is there.
It would be nice to see some intelligent posts on here except the usual hating that goes on.
