Mike Shanahan: "Albert Haynesworth will not be traded"

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan was emphatic in an appearance on NFL Network Friday afternoon that he will not trade defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.

“No,” Shanahan said when asked by Rich Eisen whether there was any possibility he’d trade Haynesworth. “It’s not going to happen. There’s a lot of rumors, a lot of speculation that’s been going on here for the last month. But Albert Haynesworth will not be traded.”

So there you have it. Despite a previous report on NFL Network today saying we should expect Haynesworth to be traded, Shanahan is adamant that it won’t happen.

Which means the only way Haynesworth can be traded now is if Shanahan is lying.

    So it looks like a straight up trade of Haynesworth for Roethlisberger according to all of the knowledgeable expert insiders with inside connections and stuff.

    LaConfora is going to F@#$ up his reputation playing cat and mouse with the Redskin’s franchise.. He is essentially trying to get team’s to deal for Haynesworth by making false reports that they are willing to… He’s a big thorn in Daniel’s and Mike’s rear end..

    Rumor has it the Raiders have the best offer on the table for Haynesworth so far: their 3rd rd pick (#69 overall), 5th rd pick (#138 overall), and Kirk Morrison for Haynesworth and the Skins’ 5th rounder (#163 overall).

    The Saints would be stupid to not get him for their 2nd or 3rd round pick. The Vikings 3rd rounder would make sense too. Both teams are in win-now mode.

    Yeah but he was on ESPN after that and said he ‘hopes’ Fat Albert will be there. Change in tone usually means he’s lying….
