Saints among teams to have called on Haynesworth

The Titans may not want Albert Haynesworth back, but the disgruntled defensive tackles is hardly guaranteed to stay in Washington.

Jason Reid of the Washington Post tweets that the door remains ajar for a possible Haynesworth deal, with the Saints being among the teams to have inquired.

New Orleans and Washington reportedly spoke about tackle Jamaal Brown Friday.  It seems unlikely Brown would be included in a possible deal after Washington selected Trent Williams.

The Saints next pick is No. 64, and the Redskins were previously reportedly to be looking for a second-round pick for Haynesworth.

WHO DAT!!! Make it happen Mickey!! We get Haynesworth, you might as well give us the trophy and scrap the 2010 season. Just tell Tiffany and Co while they are engraving the names of the 2009 Roster, go ahead and make another one for 2010 and send it in the same box….Save on Freight charges and a whole lot of Headaches…and send some Midol to the Vikings and there fans!!!!

Why not trade Haynsworth for Jamaal Brown, we still need another tackle.

  7. GeauxSaints53 says: Apr 23, 2010 3:13 PM

Haslett drafted Jamaal Brown back in the day to play RT. And Washington needs an RT as parasonic said. With Haslett there now, it makes perfect sense.

If Haynesworth just showed up for camp none of this discussion would be going on. Haynesworth is our best defensive player…we need to stick to the 4-3 so we can keep him…Haynesworth just stands out because of the huge contract people notice he takes breathers but we all know when he is on the field he makes everyone around him better and is just a flat out stud probably the best in the league at what he does.

How about you just enjoy the one you have, before putting the cart before the horse on the next one?
Alot of things had to fall right for you to get the last one. Mostly the ball out of the Vikes hands.

As a Saints fan who lives in DC there is NO way we want Haynesworth. I’ve watched him bitch and moan since he got here, fake injury to get off the field, and be a POISON to the locker room. I hate that guy. Just say NO to Fat Albert. The guy is a cancer. We can do better.

Just what the Saints need. A fat, out of shape, can’t go three plays in a row without going to the bench, me first player to ruin their locker room chemistry.

There was a time when one could feel bad for saints fans. With the bags over thier heads, the “ain’ts”, ’70,’80,’96,’99,’05 seasons, the big thunderstorm, the Rickey Williams draft. Now I see they are just creeps. They act like the saints are this great rich team after one good season. They have a history of being losers, and it reflects on their fans. Sorry, I’m just tired of them ripping the other teams in the league after they have one good season after 42 bad ones.

Hey Dipshit, go do some research, open mouth and insert foot. You must be a Vikings fan too.
“The words “Vince Lombardi Trophy” are engraved and the NFL shield is affixed in a separate item onto the base. After the trophy is awarded, it is sent back to Tiffany’s to be engraved with the winning team’s name, the date and final score of the Super Bowl, and then is sent back to the winning team for them to keep”
and if they dont put the names, they should write this instead…..2009 New Orleans Saints, Saints 31 Colts 17….and at the bottom….”Suck One Vikings!”

    GeauxSaints53:
Jim Haslett didn’t draft Jamaal Brown to play right tackle. He was drafted to play left tackle, even though he only played right tackle in his career at OU. He was considered athletic enough to play on the left side when he came out, and that is where he ended up.
BTW, Haslett is the “defensive” coordinator, not the offensive coordinator for the Redskins. I think he would have to defer to Mike Shanahan, although Jim could certainly testify as to Brown’s ability as a player and his character.

  41. Bruce says: Apr 23, 2010 8:33 PM

Haynesworth mentioned weeks ago that he doesn’t want to play nose tackle but admitted that he will play wherever they wanted him to. He met with Shanahan on the first day of voluntary workouts and mentioned that he would be working out on his own. When Sean Taylor and Clinton Portis didn’t attend voluntary workouts under Joe Gibb’s nobody was hollering about trading them. Haynesworth admitted that he was out of shape last year and vowed that he will be in the shape that would make him the most dominant force on the football field. Shanahan would be an absolute fool to trade Haynesworth. Shanahan needs to reflect back on what got him fired in Denver and realize that he is not GOD. Find a way to use a player with such “off the chart” abilities. The Redskins defense may be good w/o Haynesworth but they will be much better with him. Don’t handcuff the man like Gregg Williams handcuffed LeVar Arrington. You must put your “playmakers” in a position to make plays. Ray Lewis threatened to leave the Ravens years ago when they considered changing their defense. Shanahan, get off your high horse and ride Haynesworth to the playoffs.

  42. Bious says: Apr 23, 2010 9:04 PM

The Saints getting AH would be cement them as the favorites to win the SB….again
