Haynesworth mentioned weeks ago that he doesn’t want to play nose tackle but admitted that he will play wherever they wanted him to. He met with Shanahan on the first day of voluntary workouts and mentioned that he would be working out on his own. When Sean Taylor and Clinton Portis didn’t attend voluntary workouts under Joe Gibb’s nobody was hollering about trading them. Haynesworth admitted that he was out of shape last year and vowed that he will be in the shape that would make him the most dominant force on the football field. Shanahan would be an absolute fool to trade Haynesworth. Shanahan needs to reflect back on what got him fired in Denver and realize that he is not GOD. Find a way to use a player with such “off the chart” abilities. The Redskins defense may be good w/o Haynesworth but they will be much better with him. Don’t handcuff the man like Gregg Williams handcuffed LeVar Arrington. You must put your “playmakers” in a position to make plays. Ray Lewis threatened to leave the Ravens years ago when they considered changing their defense. Shanahan, get off your high horse and ride Haynesworth to the playoffs.

Jim Haslett didn’t draft Jamaal Brown to play right tackle. He was drafted to play left tackle, even though he only played right tackle in his career at OU. He was considered athletic enough to play on the left side when he came out, and that is where he ended up.
BTW, Haslett is the “defensive” coordinator, not the offensive coordinator for the Redskins. I think he would have to defer to Mike Shanahan, although Jim could certainly testify as to Brown’s ability as a player and his character.

There was a time when one could feel bad for saints fans. With the bags over thier heads, the “ain’ts”, ’70,’80,’96,’99,’05 seasons, the big thunderstorm, the Rickey Williams draft. Now I see they are just creeps. They act like the saints are this great rich team after one good season. They have a history of being losers, and it reflects on their fans. Sorry, I’m just tired of them ripping the other teams in the league after they have one good season after 42 bad ones.
