Seahawks take big-play receiver in Golden Tate

The Seattle Seahawks got a productive wide receiver who has a highlight reel full of big plays with the 60th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, selecting Golden Tate of Notre Dame.

Tate had a huge junior season in 2009, catching 93 passes for 1,496 yards and 15 touchdowns. He decided to turn pro shortly after coach Charlie Weis was fired.

The winner of the Biletnikoff Award as the best receiver in college football, Tate has experience in an NFL-style offense playing for Weis, and he’s great at running with the ball after the catch.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll saw Tate in person three times when Carroll was the coach at USC, and he obviously liked what he saw.
