Titans again say they won’t be trading for Haynesworth

Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has been mentioned so many times on the page today, you’d think he’s been accused to sexual assault in Nevada and/or Georgia.

Instead, he remains the biggest name supposedly on the trading block. The Redskins, as MDS recently pointed out, say he isn’t. Now, Titans G.M. Mike Reinfeldt says that, if Haynesworth is traded, it won’t be back to the Titans, despite a report that he’ll return to Nashville in exchange for a third-round pick.

It’s a dead issue,’' Reinfeldt said, per Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. “It is not happening. From our perspective there is nothing [to the report] at all. I have not talked to the Redskins in a long time.’'

We’ll believe Haynesworth won’t be traded when he isn’t traded. For now, we suspect plenty of teams are in play, including the Vikings and (as we hear it) the Texans.
