Hours after the Tennessee Titans traded away former USC running back LenDale White, they signed another former USC running back, undrafted free agent Stafon Johnson.
Johnson tweeted the news shortly after the draft ended.
Johnson’s 2009 season ended when he suffered life-threatening injuries after dropping a barbell on his throat while lifting weights. Although his voice hasn’t completely recovered, he’s healthy enough to return to the football field.
Johnson gained 1,552 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns in his USC career.

Grats to Mr. Johnson.
Good luck, Stafon Johnson.
Good Luck Stafon! Its a good fit for you. Prove ur a badass.
Props to the Titans for taking chances on two classy players: Stafon Johnson and Myron Rolle.
You’ll never catch me cheering for the Titans (or the Trojans, for that matter) but I’m cheering for Stafon Johnson to make it into the NFL after the near-tragedy he miraculously survived.
Best of luck to Mr. Johnson….He certainly deserves it. I like his chances to make the Titans with LenDale gone.
if only the Titans would have drafted Dez Bryant I would have a new 2nd favorite team.
all the best Stef….remember you from the Dorsey HS days….
Congrats to him i hope he has a great NFL career good luck
Great story. I hope he makes it.
I wish SJ all the luck in the world! How can anyone “not” cheer for this guy! What an amazing story they showed about his accident on ESPN.
The man is already a hero in my book!
