@famucancer ...
Apparently you felt no need to actually check your facts or listen to the DA's entire press conference in which he clarified the video issue. Wow, what a shock.
1. The security system is a motion-activated DVR (look it up) recording on a hard drive. When the hard drive is full, it overwrites. No one erased the system. It got full and overwrote, just as it is programmed to do.
2. NO cameras were in the VIP party area, the hallway, or the bathroom.
3. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation viewed the footage before the system overwrote. It showed only Roethlisberger's party entering the club and the woman's party entering sometime later.
4. The GBI could have downloaded the footage to disk to preserve it, but since it didn't show anything useful, they didn't bother.
5. You have the IQ of a cantaloupe.

My daughter is a student at GSU. The word over the entire campus is that the "victim" made this story up. The only thing she was forced to do that night was to report that she was raped by Ben R. Her sorority sisters forced her to give that statement because of the way Ben was acting that night. He was arrogant and that made the girls upset. The "victim" tryed to get out of making further statements, and even left school to get away from the sorority sisters. Then the 'sisters" went to the police station and gave their own report. This was after they "huddled" at their sorority house that night to get their story straight. They are now admitting that the lied.
The media and NFL fan base are trashing Ben. They are accepting the story of drunk college girls as fact. If the media is interested in true reporting they would travel to the campus and interview the students down there. According to the students, during the investigation nobody was talking much. Since the case is closed, the truth is coming out. And the truth is that this story is a lie.
These lies ruined the lives of Ben R and the police officers that were serving as body gaurds.
Athletes do act as if they are entitled. But Ben acted no differently then a vast majority of pros who go out partying.

To: Ben Roethlisberger
From: Steeler Nation
Subject: Redemption
Dear Mr Roethlisberger,
For multiple years now we have been witness to your two very different public personnas.
- Gifted, creative, intuitive, exciting and resourceful quarterback of our beloved Black &Gold. We cheered and smiled "wide eyed" when you pulled yet another "Houdini" act escaping the blitz and finding the open man down field. The last Superbowl seemed nothing less than a work of divine intervention. (We also like to think it was Myron smiling down and helping you & Tones out from above.) You receive much help on the field both sides of the ball. It is afterall a team game, and it's Our team as much as it is yours.
- 2nd: Steeler Nation is really internally torn up. Turns out our current hero lacks common sense and is a real "heel" and "louse" on a somewhat regular basis when off the field and away from the cameras. You can make amends and turn your life around. There is no escape from the real challenges in front of you. You need help in your personal life just as you do in the game you earn your living playing.
Show us, make us cheer for you personally, again and again and again. Just as you won us over in the game you can win us over personally. And with each act of attrition, selflessness and charity we will indeed cheer for you.

famucancer says:
"The videotape was "accidentally" erased showing what took place up until going into the bathroom (like a sober police officer taking a drunk girl into the hall way, one who could barely stand and as a police officer, would be able to determine such)"
If you read the statement, you'd know that there are no cameras in the VIP area. Therefore, nothing else could have been acquired from the tapes. Not to mention the police did see the tapes and said there was nothing on it that would have helped the case. http://nationalsportsreview.com/sports/us/d-wil/2010/04/12/da-fred-bright-transcript-plus-the-post-statement-interview/ 4th question in the Q&A area.
"The police officer approached by the young women called them drunk b*tches and proceeded to violate every conceivable protocol there was to hinder any actual investigation."
It was noted that the police officer in question grew angry at the girls because they were all very drunk and none of them could give a straight answer to his questions. There was never any mention of him calling them "drunk b*tches" as you claim.
"The bathroom where the alleged rape occurred, was bleached down before the GA Bureau of Investigations could collect any forensic evidence."
A cleaning person is said to have cleaned the bathroom the next day with bleach and Pinesol. The police had already collected evidence from the bathroom, and any attempt to gather further evidence wouldn't have mattered because the DNA they found on her was so minuscule that it couldn't be determined whose it was anyway.
"How sad that you are continuing to defend this obvious predator, one that by all accounts was NOT drunk off his azz according to the 527 page document of witness statements that you didnt read because it might just tell you something you dont want to know."
He was inebriated, the D.A. simply said witnesses didn't see him "swaggering around". It's actually the way a justice system should work.

famucancer says:
“The videotape was “accidentally” erased showing what took place up until going into the bathroom (like a sober police officer taking a drunk girl into the hall way, one who could barely stand and as a police officer, would be able to determine such)”
If you read the statement, you’d know that there are no cameras in the VIP area.
“The police officer approached by the young women called them drunk b*tches and proceeded to violate every conceivable protocol there was to hinder any actual investigation.”
It was noted that the police officer in question grew angry at the girls because they were all very drunk and none of them could give a straight answer to his questions. There was never any mention of him calling them “drunk b*tches” as you claim.
“The bathroom where the alleged rape occurred, was bleached down before the GA Bureau of Investigations could collect any forensic evidence.”
A cleaning person is said to have cleaned the bathroom the next day with bleach and Pinesol. The police had already collected evidence from the bathroom, and any attempt to gather further evidence wouldn’t have mattered because the DNA they found on her was so minuscule that it couldn’t be determined whose it was anyway.
“How sad that you are continuing to defend this obvious predator, one that by all accounts was NOT drunk off his azz according to the 527 page document of witness statements that you didnt read because it might just tell you something you dont want to know.”

As a medical professional, it is true that concussions and brain injury can lead to modifications in a patients behavior. And the NFL is clearly culpable with it's rush to return Star players back to action. However, this could be perceived as excuse making and blow up in Ben's face if he uses this as an excuse. Furthermore, this could open up a bag of worms for the NFL.
