John Henderson to visit Chiefs, gets interest from Giants

Free agency, phase three is underway.  And there are some decent players available.

Former Jaguars defensive tackle John Henderson shouldn’t have trouble getting a job, and has already received interest from the Giants, according to the New York Daily News.

Still, they aren’t his most aggressive pursuers.  Henderson will visit the Chiefs first, according to Newsday.

New York has a ton of defensive tackles on the roster after drafting Linval Joseph in the second round, but they may be trying to get rid of one.  NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reported Monday that the Giants almost dealt Barry Cofield to the Saints during the draft for a second-day pick.

Big Blue’s defensive overhaul doesn’t appear done yet.

The Giants are gonna look like some ’94 Madden where you could put the code in to have 10 clones of the same guy. DT DT DT DT….

No, Linval fills Fred Robbins spot and If John Henderson comes in we’ll probably cut Rocky Bernard, so really we have the same amount of DT from last year.

Benard stays, Robbins is gone. He is going to get less playing time than Linval. I like the guy and he has played hard in the past, but his injuries have finally caught up to him.

If the Chiefs don’t pick up this guy, they are idiots. The one position in the draft that was not addressed. This guy is a beast, and won’t be on the market long. Sign him Pioli!!!!! I also say bring in A. Thomas for a look, he is a former Patriot…………

Yea until the Saints laughed themselves unconscious when the Giants told them they wanted a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Barry Cofield.

WRONG. The Saints and the Giants agreed to the trade but the Saints and Cofield couldn’t agree on a contract.

Bernard AND Cofield could both be gone if the G-Men pick up Henderson. Why not? Visit to KC fell through for John for some unknown reason. Falcon’s GM already stated that Atlanta’s not interested. Might as well come to Big Blue, John.
