The article mentions that it is the GROUP ticket sales manager that has received more calls. The Jags have set aside seats for group sales, which are no doubt available on a single game basis already.
Likely there are Gator alumni and fanclub groups, as well as church and other organizations interested in attending Tebow’s first NFL regular season game.
I find it highly doubtful that these groups or an substantial number of the individuals comprising them would have become season holders had the Chosen One been drafted by the Jags.

…and that was without drafting Tim Tebow.
They also sold over 1200 new season tickets the week before the draft (15th – 22nd) when all indications were that the Jaguars would not be drafting Tebow.

I’m eager to see Tyson Alualu but maybe that’s b/c I’m a diehard. First off single tickets are not on sell yet. Second, ticket sells always increase after the draft and third calls don’t mean they are willing to purchase. They silly Tebow lovers are just calling to see how much a ticket cost, but they aren’t buying.
Serioulsy, let it go. Tebow is gone. He was not drafted by the Jags. He doesn’t know you personally and he’s not going to be hanging out with you or going to church with you. This isn’t a competition b/t the Gators and Jags. Support the team with the name of the city that you live in on and not the freakin player. That’s why Seminoles and Hurricane fans can’t stand you simple-minded people(not all Gator fans, but most).

Something doesn’t jive in this story. Single game tickets for the Jaguars are not on sale yet. You can only buy season tickets at the moment. Are the Jaguars seeing an increase in season ticket sales since the draft or are they only seeing an increase in interest in single game tickets for the opener? If it is the latter, the headline is very misleading. I would be interested to see how many people inquiring about single game tickets actually buy them.

Jacksonville is about as conservative a city as there is in Florida. The religion of Tim Tebow is what brings out masses. Jaguars fans in town didn’t want the Jags to take Tebow. It would be such a pander and such a reach. Say what you want about Alualu but he will start all 16 games this season and help Jacksonville win games. Tebow won’t start for three years. It has nothing to do with him being a Gator or from J-ville. It has to do with him symbolizing something as popular as Christianity. He is seen by many as a prophet or something. It has nothing to do with his ability and everything to do with his faith. He appeals more to people who could care less about football than he does to people that love football.

Denver’s sold out every home game since ’72.
If we lose 14 games, it will likely have nothing to do with Tim Tebow, who will probably be on the bench all season.

I realize the Jags are crummy on defense, and at best average in the passing game…
…but Maurice Jones Drew is one hell of a player, and ought to be a huge attraction for Jags fans. And I realize Garrard isn’t the sexiest or most productive QB in the league, but looking at his stats, you could do a whole lot worse than Garrard and it’d be hard to blame him for Jacksonville’s lack of success.

This is totally expected. I think all the trailer trash Gator fans in Jax were totally sweating it out Thursday night, thinking “what if the Jags really DO draft Tebow?? Then I’ll have to put my money where my mouth is and actually buy tickets to show what a good fan I am!”
No, instead they now get to buy a $20 hat or $50 Broncos jersey, go to one game all year (as long as it doesn’t conflict with the Gators playing Charleston Southern School for the Blind of course) and pat each other on the back of their wife beaters and say “I can’t believe them didn’t draft Tay-Bow!” and other such dip-distorted nonsense.
It’s a lot easier to plunk down $50 for a jersey than it is $400 for season tickets, and those trailer payments aren’t getting any cheaper now are they, Gator fans?

Come on…just because the sales calls have increased doesn’t mean it has anything to do with Tebow. I bet all teams have seen an increase in calls since the start of the draft.
