Several weeks ago, even as some of you were complaining that we had avoided the story of Tiki Barber leaving his wife for another woman while his wife was eight months pregnant with twins because we’re beholden to NBC, we actually had posted several stories on the subject.
So here’s the latest.
Barber has been served with divorce papers by his wife, Ginny. According to TMZ (not to be confused with TMZ-ESPN), the development comes at a time when the couple had agreed to press pause on the dissolution of their marriage until the new Barber babies had been born.
And, yes, Tiki was at the 2010 NFL draft -- but not as part of the NBC Sports contingent, which consisted of yours truly and Rosenthal. Still, the New York Daily News reports that Tiki remains a contributor to the Today show.
In this context, “contributor” possibly means “guy who’ll never been seen on camera again but will remain on the payroll until his contract expires.”
