Free-agent safety jeopardizes his freedom

ClintonHart.jpgVeteran safety Clinton Hart is available to be signed by any interested team.

And the list of interested teams likely has just been reduced.

Our friends at TMZ have passed along a link to the Marion County, Florida inmate database.  We entered Hart’s name, and there he was, projecting a Tom DeLay-style smile above the details regarding Hart’s arrest.

Hart apparently is being held without bond after being busted for domestic battery.

The 32-year-old defender spent 2009 with the Rams after six seasons in San Diego.  Hart entered the league in 2003 as a member of the Eagles.

He became a full-time starter for the Chargers three years ago, starting 30 regular-season games in 2007 and 2008 combined.

His next opportunity could come with the Mean Machine.

  1. TMZ??? WTF why do they scour the arrest meter to post NFL arrest????
How many TMZ reporters have been threatnened???? I would love to get that #
plus most of those reporters are soft ass wimps…..

  2. Wow, this is the first NFL player to be busted for hitting a family member. Certainly all NFL teams will avoid him for this arrest, not because he’s a mediocre journeyman player in his 30s.

  3. Domestic battery? Sign him, Pittsbur……oh, wait….he’s not a pro-bowler, so he’d have to go…never mind.

  5. Florio – word(s) of advice
continuing to say “our friends at TMZ” is only bringing down your depleted crediblility.

  6. “The Bengals DO need a safety, actually…”
actually Pitt needs him dumbass! Get your old ass jokes from 06 and toss them in the trash….
09 Bengals teams and beyond dont lead the NFL in arrests…..
You know what I dont get is a football fan who just doesnt stay up on current NFL topics and is stuck in the past…Those types of fans shouldnt post! Read! Get caught up! Then post….
    Happy Reading……

  7. In San Diego, we all called him Clinton “NO” Hart cuz he ran from hits faster then Cromartie.

  8. Wow…he’s never been a good player but I never thought he was the kind to do something like this. He always seemed like a good guy.

  9. The Steelers are set at safety. Quality (and one superstar) starters and adequate/solid depth.

  10. Keep dissin the Raiders, just wait till the season starts. Silver and Black are back, punchin all other teams in the mouth this year.
