@ vegassquire,
Um, the Lions traded a linebacker who can't understand how NFL defenses or offenses work in Ernie Sims for a 7th round pick and Tony Sheffler. Keith Bulluck is a better short term LB than Sims, he's a better tackler and better in coverage than Sims. He might be old, but as a short term solution it's a good move if they bring him in. Plus we know he fits and understands the defense Schwartz runs because he played for him in Tennessee for 7 years.

Trade Ernie Sims for a 5th rounder and go sign Keith Bulluck.... same old Lions doing the same stupid things over and over again.
------------------------------------------------
That's right, keeping around an overpaid, overhyped player like Sims, to continue to "free lance" and miss assignments makes all the sense in the world. How many Lions games have you watched in the past three seasons? I've watched them all, and I can tell you that Sims is more reputation that substance. He might do OK for the Eagles, but he won't be a Pro Bowler. He is easily blocked, and in some instances doesn't need to be blocked because he takes himself out of the play. And that's just in the running game. In the pass defense he's pretty much useless, which is why he came off the field in nickle and dime defense situations.
Oh....and by the way....we traded Sims for Tony Sheffler and a 7th round pick, not just a fifth round selection (which went to the Broncos), so get your facts straight.

The last linebacker we passed on with an ACL was Jonathan Vilma. (Traded for a 4th round pick).
Schwartz knows Bulluck and Pacman and Haynesworth, so I'm all for any of them that he sees fit to bring in.
Ultimately, I'd love to trade for Shawn Merriman though. John Henderson could take some serious pressure and double teams off Suh.
