PFTV puts a bow on the Big Ben suspension

Last week, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was suspended for six games.  A day later came the draft, which pushed the suspension out of the headlines.

But we need five PFTV topics and there was still plenty to say about whether the suspension was fair — and whether Roethlisberger will do enough to secure a reduction in the penalty from six games to four.

So here’s a couple of minutes of additional discourse regarding the first conduct-based suspension ever imposed on a player who was not arrested or prosecuted.

“PFTV puts a bow on the Big Ben suspension”
it only took 153 effing posts, and 18 PFTV debates to get to the “bow”
    not bad

Must have been, what six hours since you PFT guys last had sexual thoughts of Pig Ben, just had to get one last fix (before the next one in six hours)…

Florio is required to write at least 5 Roethlisberger posts per day.
Instead of putting a bow on it, how about putting a sock in it?

    So, I have a question…
What’s really with the 6 game suspension, but 4 if he behaves well?
I mean, shouldn’t it be a certain amount of games for what he’s done and if he does anything else stupid it’s more? It’s not like if he’s in another similar situation the NFL is going to say, “Nope, now it stays at 6 games.” It would be more. So why not say it’s either 4 games or 6 games? Makes no sense to me.

  25. Mean D says: Apr 29, 2010 4:17 PM

Ahh too late, @maddog took care responding for me. Still though, you’ll never have to worry about reaching a Super Bowl with Carson Palmer either. He and Tony Romo want the playoffs to end early so they can go hold hands and play golf in the Bahamas.

  34. Poo Flinging Monkey says: Apr 29, 2010 5:52 PM

    So you contend that:
    a) Rothlisberger > OJ
    b) Rothlisberger > McVeigh
    c) Roethlisberger > Hitler
Can’t argue with you there. You sure know how to pick a winner.
If your boy was never charged, then why did the NFL suspend him? Was it because he sexually assaulted a coed? Was it for walking around with his wang hanging out? No! It’s all a setup, and Ben did none of these things?
You may as well get used to the fact that the vast majority of decent people frown on the actions of your hero, whether he was charged or not. So get used to the mockery, there’s more to come.
You, Deb and the rest of your insipid Steelers brethren should start a support group : :”Stiller fanz who dun’t care who are QB rapes”.

You are right Carson Palmer seems like a pretty good cat, ( too bad he’ll never win the big one). The problem is the rest of those CRUMB BUM CRIMINALS on that CRUMB BUM team make up for his good behavior. A BUNGLE fan is the last fan that should be talking about anybodys behavior. ROETHLISBERGER= TWO SUPER BOWL WINS. PALMER= ONE TORE UP KNEE AND A PLAYOFF LOSS AND ANOTHER LOSS LAST YEAR WITH A GOOD KNEE. I’LL TAKE BEN OVER CARSON ALL DAY!!!

I would love to comment on the greatest media regarding Ben. I’m from Pittsburgh and personally I love “Big Ben”. But, when it comes to certain issues, “Big Ben” brought it on himself.
For instance, this guy gets paid a lot of money to do what he is doing. Also it states in his contract, to follow certain rules. Now, Big Ben keeps breaking these rules. I look at it this way, anyone would love to get paid what he gets paid and knows how to follow the rules a lot better than him.
Not only is this making himself look bad, but The Steelers team, The Rooney’s and also The City of Pittsburgh. There are a lot of other players out there that would love the opportunity Ben Roethlisberger has and can keep it together not only in his contract but in front of the media as well.
The Steelers don’t need bad publicity over this, and look at what this has created. Helping someone can only go so far and then that person has to come to a realization that they just have to get it together.
My question right now is, Can “Big Ben” get it together and keep it together regarding his contract and the media?
Back in the 70’s a Steeler named OJ Simpson was well loved, and long after his rein with The Steelers bad happened, but while he played for the team, he followed his contract. Now if OJ Simpson could do it, why can’t “Big Ben”.

  45. Pgh says: Apr 29, 2010 8:32 PM

Sorry, I did a typo. – When OJ Simpson played with The Buffalo Bills and The 49’s, not The Steelers, he still followed his contract.

Accused and convicted are two different animals. The lynch mob rules at this website. I could accuse half the posters here of being brain dead idiots but that doesn’t make it so.
Whether the punishment is just or not will be up to Ben. There are some things he has to do to improve his situation. He hasn’t done any of that yet. And we probably won’t know about it until after it happens, one way or the other.
So the world hates the Steelers?! That’s a perspective the Steelers and their fans can work with. It’s just another day in paradise.
    GO STEELERS!

You have no conception about how civil suits work. Most never see the inside of a court room. And you’re a complete moron if you think Ben will have to testify. All the evidence his attorney’s need to prove libel will be taken directly from this site. Ben has never been charged with rape much less convicted. Just because you and the rest of the idiots here wish it so doesn’t make it so.When push comes to shove NBC is going to hang Florio’s ass out to dry to avoid a lawsuit they can’t win.
Here is a prime example of the thin ice Florio is skating on. Wanda Sykes had Brian Cranston, Tommy Lee and a couple of other guests on her show last week and they talked about Ben. Cranston used the oft quoted nick name on this site; “Rapistburger” Fox beeped him out. Fox’s legal dept. knows full well what can come of this type of crap. I’m going to be LMAO when they bring down the hammer on Florio for letting these posts stand on his site.
