Redskins add Bobby Wade

The Washington Redskins have added another veteran free agent wide receiver.

In addition to picking up Joey Galloway, the Redskins have agreed to terms with Bobby Wade, is reporting.

Wade signed with the Chiefs in September after getting cut by the Vikings, and he ended up playing in 12 games for Kansas City, starting six, and catching 36 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns.

In addition to the Chiefs and the Vikings, Wade (who seems like he’s been around forever but actually just turned 29 years old) has played for the Bears and Titans.

    Bobby Wade, 5’10”.
    Joey Galloway, 5’10”.
    Santana Moss, 5’10”.
Umm, Coach? We were ALREADY vertically challenged.

A clear case of subtraction by addition.
    Bobby Wade blows.

Might as well sign MarHar too

Does seem like he’s been around forever.
He’s nothing great though, good hands but hes not fast, hes not tall, can’t jump.

Tanahan loves his camp fodder. Keep bringing them in. Competition can’t hurt for YOUR 2010 Washington Redskins.

  7. PSU COWBOY says: Apr 29, 2010 10:51 AM

When they all fail, you will see T.O.

  8. Lee C. says: Apr 29, 2010 10:52 AM

Galloway and Wade get a job with Washington, but the 6-foot 4, and still productive T.O. cant even get a sniff from Shanahan??

  9. Bill In DC says: Apr 29, 2010 10:53 AM

Well then, that’s it. Might as well just ship the Lombardi to Redskins Park. Why bother having a season after this devastating signing.

Not exactly DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, & Jason Avant is it McFlabb?

  15. myeaglescantwin says: Apr 29, 2010 11:09 AM

    Donovan McNabb 6’3” 245
not undersized, but underskilled. just you wait & see. unless Shanny runs 60% of the time, they have no shot.
think out it like this Eagles offesnse passed 60% of the time & donavon never completed more that 58% of his passes. so 30% of that total offense was incomplete passes.

  16. Florio_sux_azz says: Apr 29, 2010 11:10 AM

The deadskins are NOT vertically challenged. McNabb throws at the ground so you need smurfs for receivers.

  17. lurch's nyquil says: Apr 29, 2010 11:21 AM

I do not understand why people continue to rail on the skins, these moves are made for camp and that is it. There are to try to help the young receivers we have. Then get cut when they have to get to 53.

  18. GoCaps8 says: Apr 29, 2010 11:31 AM

Very rough morning. I’ve been having these types of rough mornings annually for about 25 years now. As disappointed as I am, I still think the Caps will win a Cup before the Redskins win another Lombardi.

    Santana Moss
    Marques Haggans
    Joey Galloway
    Malcolm Kelly
    Devin Thomas
    Bobby Wade
    i kno i’m probably missing 5 more

As a Chief fan, if he makes the team, he can return punts. Although he fair catches most of them.
He was seen yelling at our coach on the sidelines.
    Good luck!

At this point, if I’m a DC sports fan (Craps, Deadskins, Pizards and Nats), I might as well put a gun in my mouth and pull the trigger.

  23. daivos03 says: Apr 29, 2010 12:02 PM

So, cut by the Vikings. Picked-up off waivers by the Chiefs, who didn’t re-sign him. Good pick up Skins.

  24. Hap says: Apr 29, 2010 12:03 PM

They had 10 receivers going into camp last year, didnt they ? What’s that tell you about their draft choices the year before last (when they took 3 receivers-(2 WR and a TE I think)) ?

  25. sven_ftw says: Apr 29, 2010 12:07 PM

    solid veteran pickup.

  26. DanSnyder says: Apr 29, 2010 12:09 PM

    Roydell Williams
    Santana Moss
    Marques Haggans
    Joey Galloway
    Malcolm Kelly
    Devin Thomas
    Bobby Wade
    Marko Mitchell
    Anthony Alridge
    Terrence Austin
    Anthony Armstrong
    James Robinson
12 WRs I can name on the Redskins at the moment. lists 10 not including new additions Bobby Wade and Joey Galloway. Alridge has been a RB but they list him as a WR.

  27. D7 says: Apr 29, 2010 12:09 PM

You guys are hilarious…none of these guys are gonna make the team…they’re rentals! This is competition for Devin, Malcolm and Marko…Terrance Austin has got special teams written all over him. You need quality depth on any team. I’m not excited, but I understand why the new regime is doing this.

DUDE TO is 6’2″ and slow as sh!t… at least JG still has some speed… not sure what the BW signing was except vet competition… I think the biggest factor with TO is that he causes problems… he has a history of causing problems with our current QB… you would have to be some type of dumb@ss to invite that into the locker room….still productive????? TO was good 6 years ago…. he proved last year that he couldn’t consistently get separation, this is why buf chose not to resign him… buf needs receivers as well, so what does that tell you?
I think “common sense” should now be considered a virtue… cuz I meet more people that lack common sense these days…. it seems no one knows how to use their brain anymore… no one wants to work even tho they are being paid (yes I’m at work) either way that’s my 2 cents… I say NO TO! plz we don’t need any MORE problems…. sign another tackle or guard or center for competition.

    That about sums it up.
    Up 3-1…. Lose
fat al and portis the closet queen… enuff said
Guns pulled in the locker room I mean WTF?
And geez the Nats, who gives a rats about the Nats?

  30. purpleguy says: Apr 29, 2010 12:37 PM

Lets see, small (check), slow (check), old (check), average hands (check), yaps too much (check). Sure, the Skins ought to be a good fit.

  31. F_DALLAS says: Apr 29, 2010 12:46 PM

This is what we call off-season Bro. Every team in nfl is signing bunch players for competition reasons. there is nothing wrong with that. Half of those players you listed up there will get cut.

  32. dldavidlong says: Apr 29, 2010 12:52 PM

the redskins team just sounds old to me. mcnabb, portis, johnson, plus the added recievers

  33. MagicMan407 says: Apr 29, 2010 1:02 PM

“Umm, Coach? We were ALREADY vertically challenged.”
    89 Moss, Santana WR 5-10 200
    11 Thomas, Devin WR 6-2 215
    84 Mitchell, Marko WR 6-4 218
    12 Kelly, Malcolm WR 6-4 227
    0 Austin, Terrence WR 5-11 172
    47 Cooley, Chris TE 6-3 250
    86 Davis, Fred TE 6-4 257
guy’s above will make final roster and maybe 1 more of the 1 year signed guys will make the team. But, the named individuals above are the names that should be looked at; anyone else brought in is just competition at this point just like Shanny said he was going to do. Oh and hardly “vertically challenged”.

Loved bobby wade on vikings. disappointed when they cut him

  35. larr999777 says: Apr 29, 2010 2:14 PM

Let the players added now simply compete ,were not losing anything of value and can only gain by getting these players !!! Keep the foolish comments down, anybody aquired now has question marks ,so what. Think about the upsiside if someone breaks the mold !!! Good work by the new regime because they are searching for the best way to improve REDSKINS !!!

  36. Poison Pill says: Apr 29, 2010 3:36 PM

Until T.O. comes down on his 5mil (per yr) asking price, no one will sign him… the Redskins GM and Shanny are not spending big clot on anyone at this time.

  37. larr999777 says: Apr 29, 2010 10:40 PM

TO is a cancer,he has been dismissed from every team that got drunk on his talent, we are moving forward with unity we don’t need TO !!! !!! !!! At any price !!! !!! !!!

  38. DeeDubb says: Apr 29, 2010 10:47 PM

For those complaining about size, all these guys are 6’2 or taller:
    Devin Thomas
    Malcolm Kelly
    Marko Mitchell
Besides, it’s not like either Galloway or Wade are guarenteed to make the team…settle down.
