Saints visit with Clint Ingram

The Saints aren’t allowed to sign unrestricted free agents currently because of the rules governing the uncapped year, but they do need help at linebacker.

That’s why they must have been happy when the Jaguars withdrew their tender to restricted free agent Clint Ingram, making him available.   (League rules allow them to sign a non-tendered RFA.)

Ingram visited New Orleans Wednesday, and knows Gregg Williams’ defense from Williams’ year in Jacksonville.

The Saints didn’t draft a linebacker, and lost Scott Fujita in the offseason.

Great! They really need a LB and year after year they fail to draft one.

Nope, the Saints used up their Free Agent money from Fujita by signing DE Wilkerson.
However, since Ingram was released he doesn’t count towards the “Rule of 8″. So the Saints can sign him regardless.
    Who Dat!

Yay! The Saints just keep getting stronger on defense. Alex Brown, Jimmy Wilkerson, Charles Brown, Patrick Robinson, Harry Coleman, and now Clint Ingram! Repeat!!!!

Charles Brown is an offensive lineman, but you’re forgiven. LOL
