Vikings stadium bill coming next week

Finally, it looks like the Minnesota legislature will be taking up the challenge of finding a way to keep the local NFL team local.

According to John Shipley and Jason Hoppin of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, a stadium bill will be introduced next week. It’s expected to create a procedure for allowing local municipalities to compete for the ability to host the new stadium as an alternative to the still-viable possibility of building a new venue at the site of the Metrodome.

If the stadium moves from Minneapolis, it could land in St. Paul, Bloomington, or Blaine. Though that may upset the folks who run the city in which the current stadium sits, it’s better than seeing the team move to L.A., London, or San Antonio.
