Stacy Andrews' pay cut "didn't bother me at all"

The Philadelphia Eagles gave offensive lineman Stacy Andrews a choice this offseason: Take a pay cut or get cut. Andrews chose the former, and he says he feels good heading into a 2010 season in which he’ll make far less money than his original $38 million contract called for him to make.

“I knew I wanted to be here,” Andrews said. “With the [pay] cut, that didn’t bother me at all. I’m happy here.”

Andrews was a disappointment in 2009, and he agreed to drop his 2010 base salary from $2.95 million to $1.15 million. Now he says he’s healthy after recovering from a torn ACL and ready for a big year.

“Last year, I was still rehabbing and really was getting no reps,” Andrews said. “The only thing I was getting was mental reps. This year, I’m there in it and going through everything. Getting a lot of reps, that’s the main thing.”

Before you judge Stacy Andrews you need to walk a mile in her shoes, size 18 pumps.

The guy doesnt even deserve the 1.15 he’ll be getting this year!!! He better have a stellar season b/c he is looking like a waste of space just like his brother!.

Uhhh I dont think so dude. 2.95 to 1.15 is a huge cut after taxes. Maybe you know you suck.

Sometimes things happen in a person’s life that opens their eyes into preforming better or different.
For example I almost got fired from a good paying job because I care too much for the company and got angry because there is a lazy punk that doesn’t pull has fat weight for the team. I broke a tool and almost lost my job.
I know I’ll be a better person because of that. I hope Stacy Andrews does the same thing and become a star player.

So if he plays really well are they going to give him a pay bump?

And why did he have to take a pay cut? Those cheating New Orleans Saints, of course.

“Choose the paycut, and you will join me. Choose the base salary, and you join your brother…in unemployment”

“that did’t bother me at all”…I wish I could say the same about not cutting you!!!

Thank god his over-rated ass is no longer on the Bengals.

I want twice as much effort for half as much money!! We need Andrews!! No OL in the draft and none on the horizon!! Expect J Jackson to have the same issues and Andrews did. Jackson will be back 100% in 2011 season.

If he can’t crack the starting lineup it’s time to cut his ass. If he can’t beat out Max Jean-Gilles who just got lap band surgery, that’s pathetic.

I think I could cut back to that.

He couldn’t cut it with the Bengals O-line of two seasons ago when they couldn’t protect a handful of nickels much less a QB and he goes to Phili and they don’t wanna pay him that huge contract? He might have to go on foodstamps the poor baby…

If there is one thing worse than a Cincinnati Bungle it’s a former Cincinnati Bungle. Last good player we got from that outfit was Bill Bergey.

You guys are a joke……a guy that you believe is overpaid is a doucebag, a guy that underplays and willingly takes a paycut to stay in the NFL, is a doucebag…..maybe you guys don’t have a clue and like a bunch of old women, you like to sit and bitch about the weather.
Give the guy his due….he didn’t play up to his contract and he is acting like a pro…
