Catch Florio on msnbc

With another cross-section of football and law in the headlines Thursday, the folks at msnbc have asked Florio to make a return trip to the airwaves.

You can catch him live at 2:00 p.m. E.T., where he will discuss the Lawrence Taylor arrest.

And if you don’t have a job that parks a television at your desk, we’ll try to get an embedded video to post on the site later.

UPDATE:  The bad news is that, due to a rash of other breaking news items, I was bumped.  The good news is that this could end up being a great day to buy stocks.

Its been 310 days since the “Comment Ratings” disappeared from PFT/CFT – when will Mike Florio be addressing bringing that feature back to PFT as promised last July?

I’ll put it on, but not in HD. MSNBC isn’t even blocked on my office TV. Usually a clear cut sign of extreme lameness.

    No thanks =/

Are NBC employees allowed to assault each other? If so; Mr Florio, would you do me a HUGE favor and slap Keith “Pompous, Smarmy, Douchebag Extraordinaire” Olbermann until he bleeds? Thanks!

  10. KnuckleBucket says: May 6, 2010 1:53 PM

A tool on the tube! Must see TV!

No Thanks. MSNBC is horrible. Obama’s public relations wing.

  13. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater says: May 6, 2010 2:03 PM

Florio got bumped by a stopped flight of Haji International Airlines at JFK and a hostage situation in New Hampshire.

  14. JoaquinFenix says: May 6, 2010 2:03 PM

While no one will be watching (it is MSNBC after all), at least Florio has found a place where he can feel at home with his ideology.

  15. Shai says: May 6, 2010 2:03 PM

Fortunately, it’s not a choice between that or hemlock….

  16. Chapnasty2 says: May 6, 2010 2:08 PM

I wouldn’t watch MSNBC under any circumstances. MSNBC is the most venemous nonsense out there.

  18. DcNinerFan says: May 6, 2010 2:11 PM

I’d watch MSNDC if they weren’t morons that think there is no Islamic Extremism in the world and that Jihadis are just swell, misunderstood chaps. Explains why they like to put Florio on…

  19. wock says: May 6, 2010 2:15 PM

    MS-DNC. Out-F’n-standing!
Think the hosts may actually let you call someone a racist, rather than reserving that right (that they exercise every 3 minutes minimum, on any and all with the temerity to disagree with them on any issue)???
Boy won’t that be a thrill?

  20. Fonetik says: May 6, 2010 2:18 PM

    @Chapnasty2
I assume you haven’t turned on Fox News lately…
I continue to hold out hope that one day there will be a news organization that doesn’t just operate as an arm of a political side…

  21. Chiefs2010 says: May 6, 2010 2:22 PM

I don’t know if Florio has the condescending snarky wit to make it at MSNBC..
Maybe he can borrow Maddow’s ironic glasses..
or Ed Schultz’s anger at any and all things not Obama

  22. KnuckleBucket says: May 6, 2010 2:46 PM

    @ Master Bates
Good lord man, we’re raggin on Florio a bit. Relax.

  23. DcNinerFan says: May 6, 2010 2:59 PM

Fonetik – If Fox News is so venomous, why is it the most popular network by FAR and reruns of the Hannity show rank better than Larry King Live?? Probably because they use FACTS instead of race bating and class warfare and kowtowing to Islam/Sheik ObaMao… Could that be it, maybe? Hmmm…

  24. Chapnasty2 says: May 6, 2010 3:01 PM

    @ fon
Fox is on the TV here at work. It doesn’t get really biased until Beck gets on. I will admit some right leaning points they make but nothing is as bad as MSNBC. Fox is clearly biased on their morning show and after 5pm but other than that they aren’t nearly as bad as the rest of them.
Please Florio, give Olbermann a stone cold stunner

  25. Mean D says: May 6, 2010 3:03 PM

    This sentence was my favorite:
“Probably because they use FACTS instead of race bating and class warfare and kowtowing to Islam/Sheik ObaMa.”

First, Faux News isn’t a news outlet. Second, Faux News has a built in idiot ratings group i.e. you. Third, there are many more options to get real news than just 24 hour cable news that isn’t news but propainfotainment for the idiot masses.
“Damn! I’m mad at the guvement! Wish I newed how’d it werked!”
“Dag Gum bailouts! Who were it that crashed the economy then turned over 787 billion dollars to Wall Street signed with a IOU on the back of bar napkin agin?”
Cable news caters to people who want to hear what they believe, not discern the truth through critical thinking and analysis. F’in moron.

Haha, the fact that lots of people watch it automatically means it isn’t incredibly venomous? They clearly have an agenda, just like MSNBC. Remember watching it during the Bush years? They were nothing but a bunch of Bush apologists. Ever since Obama took office, they haven’t had a single decent thing to say about anybody.
All I’m saying is that I wish there was a news organization that JUST REPORTED FACTS. I don’t care about their own personal opinions, or the opinion of their corporate overlords. Fox is fine when they’re reporting average, run-of-the-mill news. Somebody got shot, dude got arrested, end of story. Fine. As soon as it’s remotely political, though, it’s game over.

    @DcNinerFan,
do us a favor and don’t reproduce. Caricatures like you have completely destroyed the Republican party. I think you probably don’t possess the cognitive ability to understand that you are, in fact just a waste of skin and oxygen, a moron in the purest form. You probably never pursued any study of law, economics, and political science beyond whatever high school belched you out. You also definitely never served your country or you wouldn’t throw around such ridiculous terms, because you’d have been to some places where you would get to see what they actually mean. You are a sheep, you are spoon fed whatever you call news from whomever you agree with and you can’t even fathom that you have no idea what you’re talking about. You don’t, BELIEVE ME. I hate people like you. When you were buying Toby Keith albums and cheering when W told our enemies to “bring it on” when the wheels came off in Iraq in 2004, I was there when they “brought it on”. You weak minded, mouth-breathing turd. Full disclosure: I’m a Republican, I just have a problem being lumped in with retards like you. You have ruined the Conservative movement and put all non-retards into a box with useless scum like yourself and now we have the most Liberal President in US history. Do those of us that actually have done something for this country a favor, go back to your double-wide and fry some bologna, drink some Busch Lite, and leave the political talk to those of us that can walk and chew gum at the same time. Thanks.

You perpetuate the same stereotypes you claim to hate..

  39. Chapnasty2 says: May 6, 2010 4:12 PM

    @ hank
So are you being racist by using stereotypical terms frequently associated with a southern white hick? I noticed you didn’t use anything like “yo” or “fizzle my nizzle” or anything in Spanish. Before you try to demonize someone for being one sided, consider yourself and then keep your mouth, on in this case hands, shut.

  40. Abe Froeman says: May 6, 2010 4:12 PM

I’d like to thank Hank and Fonetik for being rational people and making me feel slightly better about the world.

  42. Abe Froeman says: May 6, 2010 4:38 PM

Oh Chapnasty, falsely throwing racist accusations. How cute. Making fun of someone for being uneducated is racist. Classic!!
And yes, espousing on how Obama is a socialist or a communist, or by critiques such as how the oil spill is his Katrina, is just the kind of evidence one needs to justify claims that people throwing those ideas around are positively ignorant, and definitively uneducated.

  43. Chapnasty2 says: May 6, 2010 5:06 PM

    @ abe
I didn’t falsely throw out any accusations. Do you even bother to read or do you just come on here and make remarkably dumb comments that make absolutely no sense? I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of someone for stereotyping “white hicks” and used comparative stereotypical slang. Next time you want to play with the big boys, go to practice. You are the JaMarcus Russell of this website.
“That is how you debate” – Frank Ricard

  44. Abe Froeman says: May 6, 2010 5:36 PM

Yes, Chap, you did. I can’t even fathom how you can deny it. It’s pathetic. It’s right there for everyone to see five posts about your last.
And I read every word you wrote and he wrote. Difference being he never called the people “white hicks” like you did, he simply implied the people he was talking about were uneducated, ignorant, and filled with anger at forces they don’t understand. There is significant and meaningful difference and your inability to understand it is telling.
That you consider yourself a “big boy” is funny, as is the self-aggrandizing and juvenile pat on the back you give yourself with your quotation.

  45. SF Saints Fan says: May 6, 2010 5:53 PM

More people watch PFTV than MSNBC.

  46. Chapnasty2 says: May 6, 2010 6:14 PM

Abe, assumptions may be the mother of all f-ups but it is as easy to understand what he was implying. I am sorry that you are attempting to ignore the fact of the matter but that’s just how it is. The difference between him and I is that I had the courage to call it how it was, he didn’t have the courage to say what he meant or he assumed that we would figure it out.

  47. Hank says: May 6, 2010 6:27 PM

    Dr. Kenneth Noisewater,
Bravo sir. Our republic deserves a well informed populace and strong opposing viewpoints based in facts and strong leadership. It’s unfortunate that good Republicans have to pander to the emotional mob mentality.
And for the idiots who think I’m being racist, I’m as white as Wonder and grew up on a farm in the Midwest. The stupidity of the “white hick” who I am and grew up with, is no different than “dumb n#$@$r” who votes on the basis if a candidate’s skin is “darker than a brown paper bag”.

  48. DcNinerFan says: May 6, 2010 6:42 PM

Dr. Kenneth Noisewater – Wow, I can’t appreciate the utter hatred you have for people that aren’t you. Its disquieting to see that in anyone. You, sir, give Republicans a bad name, of which I am not one of. Way to jump to conclusions! Nice job! I voted independent, mostly because I think for myself and don’t follow party lines. I certainly wasn’t a fan of Bush (SR. or JR.). Insult all you want, you are just making yourself look like one of the uppity, condescending twerps on MSNBC. Spewing hatred for anyone who doesn’t think like you (which is probably most people, thank goodness).
Fonetik – Fox News wasn’t always the most popular cable news network. I think the simple fact that MSNBC, CBS, CNN, AP, and eve the Mayor of New York assumed that the attempted bombing just recently was “home grown, probably someone who dislikes the health care bill” or “probably a Tea Partier,” whereas Fox News specifically stressed the lack of information at the time shows there is a distinct difference in the race baters and bigots on those Ultra Liberal networks. Remember, Liberals are insane. They think contrary to reality. Conservatives are unimaginative. They don’t tend to take giant leaps. Most people are somewhere in the middle, and instead of listening to wild accusations, they just want the facts. Or one would hope.
Fonetik – Try these sites. I tend to get most of my news from multiple sites, mostly to get a cross section of “truths” because there is nary a site that will give just facts…
    drudgereport.com (didn’t like Bush either)
    pajamasmedia.com (satire and irony, entertaining)
    creators.com (always gives a liberal/conservative argument)
    aim.org
Last word then I’m done with this thread – Remember boys and girls, if you don’t get all the facts you can’t think for yourselves. Just because ObaMao or Butcsh or Cli(n)ton says it is so, doesn’t make it so. Bureaucracy only creates more bureaucracy. Pillage before you burn. Big Government is bad. Etc.

  49. Chapnasty2 says: May 6, 2010 6:43 PM

Well played sir, my apologies, you have to remember that this website is about 95% slow so picking out the intelligent 5% is a challenge.

    Back at you Chapnasty

  51. Abe Froeman says: May 6, 2010 6:58 PM

Oh chap, did you just say you had the courage to express something over the internet?
And I guess it turned out I was 100% correct. At least you admitted as much.
    Thanks for playing!

  52. Chapnasty2 says: May 6, 2010 7:21 PM

Abe, at least our discussion gave florio about 15 more comments than he would have gotten, I want a cut of the “hits” profit.

    aaaaaaand you lost me

  54. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater says: May 6, 2010 7:53 PM

    @DcNinerFan,
Rationalize all you want my man, but you are a part of the problem. You compare our president with a mass murderer/communist figurehead and accuse the liberal media of kowtowing to Islam. Statements like that are usually reserved for whacked out right wing nut jobs, so you can see where my confusion began. Liberal bias in the media, absolutely; pro-Islamic rhetoric, not from where I sit, and as a Combat Vet I would be the first to jump all over that. So, either I was initially correct, and you’re just a hateful fool sandbagging progress, or you’re an idealistic armchair QB/contrarian that exists in some sort of political shangri-la where Democrats and Republicans are all wrong, you’re right, but nothing is accomplished except bitching and moaning. Either way, you’re utterly useless. Here in reality, we are stuck with a two-party system, much like a case of herpes, and we have to make due with the best we can get, as real change is slow moving. For instance, I think religion is a joke, but I vote for more conservative candidates because I tend to agree with their fiscal and foreign policies, even though their morals are opposite mine. As I said, albeit in an excessively visceral manner, people like you that have never served, never sacrificed, never bothered to learn the fundamentals of a fractional reserve based free market economy, but always wager a loud and extreme opinion on war and economic policy make me nauseous. Nothing you said changes that, but you came off as an intelligent person in your response to me, which just makes it worse. As for my hateful tone, I was wrong, as far as my point, I was dead on.

  55. Chapnasty2 says: May 6, 2010 8:35 PM

    @ fonetik
Too bad he lost you at drudge since he listed a variety of sites that provide multiple viewpoints. It is impossible to come up with an educated decision without being educated and since there is no unbiased media source you are required to visit them all. You are a sad individual.
