As for the MMA training, how is it going to hurt the Rams? More power to them for trying something new. Their tackle they took last year already has a super-aggressive attitude, I would like to see what he’s like after this training

a bunch of people who hardly know anything about mixed martial arts talking smack about it. hilarious.
if conditioning is what the teams are looking for, then MMA training is the place to find it. period.
does anyone out there think that improving one’s ability to wrestle i.e. throw your opponent around like a doll, wouldn’t help in football? if so, you’re wrong.
brazilian jiu-jitsu teaches a person, not only, how to manipulate a person much larger and stronger by means of leverage and positioning, but how to subdue them, as well. anyone want to try and convince me that BJJ skills won’t gonna help improve a pro-football player’s skills?
i’m not claiming that MMA fighters who go and train with footballers and vice-versa are going to go on and all become champions. i do claim that training, using many different and challenging methods, can only help to improve one’s skills, as long as it is done properly (form, diet, etc…)
i, for one, will be watching the Rams to see if they have any more grit after working with some MMA people- although if they do, that wouldn’t be saying much.

It’s just something different… and one thing is no better than others… these guys were good BEFORE they started doing it (Allen, Willis)… this is a very poor study.
If somebody came out and said that Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, and Drew Brees all started eating Corn Pops before games in the past 5 years, does that mean Corn Pops is the reason for their success? Or could it be coincidence.

Guys like Glazer do not train guys like Kreutz. It just doesn’t happen. I could see Randy Couture, for sure, because he’s the f’n man and Kreutz would respect him while Glazer and Leinert play paddycake in wrist wraps. I’m willing to bet Allen and Willis had real trainers too.
We’re talking about a center who rubs his fellow O-liners’ faces in the dirt when he feels they aren’t giving coaches their full attention… can’t see him sparring in a gym with Glazer. I’m not talking about MMA here, got loads of respect for the sport, but this Glazer training camp crap seems like what punkasses do to look tough.

Jay Glazer is a self-aggrandizing turd of a midget; he’s the guy that never made the HS football team, but shows up to the 10 yr reunion in a rented Ferrari because he has shit to prove. Once a dink, always a dink. No matter how much money or fame he grabs for himself, it won’t make him any taller or make anything else bigger.
And how many more stories can you write about the worst team in the league in an irrelavant city?

Try tapping into a larger sports market, PFT dummies. Football is king in Texas, cover the TEXANS, other than a story about how David Carr sucks, Andre Johnson is underrated/unknown, ‘experts’ historically dislike our drafts, Ryan Moats got screwed royally by the cops, or how a lot of people don’t know our players BECAUSE THE NATIONAL MEDIA NEVER EXPOSES THEM TO THE REST OF THE COUNTRY.

How the hell can Glazer cover these guys objectively while at the same time pitching them his “training services.” Shocking that Florio would miss the conflict involved in his friend Glazer suggesting that 2 big-time slugs are draft busts, in part, because they declined to pay Glazer for the opportunity to get punched in the face.

this is the stupidest trend in the nfl. what good is a skill-fighting, throwing punches- that will get you kicked out of a game (or arrested) going to do to improve your catching/throwing/tackling/etc abilities? sure, it’s a good workout, but you can come up with a workout that is difficult for just about anything, and that can implement the skill your trying to improve. stop wasting time

any kind of training regime that can increase endurance and stamina should be embraced by all of these over payed know it all “athletes”, i cant understand why all nfl teams dont use this kind of work out,i would love to see my team have a def line with the motor like jared allen,i could see that being a pretty descent team

It’s only the new rage. Just like ProX 90 (or whatever it’s called) is the new rage for ESPN announcers. MMA training sure hasn’t worked for Leinhart. If you are a football player, you are a football player – and if you train hard, doesn’t matter what the training is.

Those guys were good BEFORE MMA training. It’s not going to turn a crappy player (Gholston) into a good player.
