The Steelers have heard the fans when it comes to Ben Roethlisberger. And in an effort to show how serious they take it, the team has sent letters on Steelers stationery from team president Art Rooney II in response to complaints about Roethlisberger.
The letter can be seen at Deadspin, but we’ll re-write it here.
“Thank you for your letter regarding Ben Roethlisberger. All of us in the Steelers family are concerned about the recent behavior of Ben in Georgia. I am certainly as concerned as you about our players’ behavior. I believe we have made it clear to Ben and all of our players, that there will be consequences for behavior that does not meet our standards,” the letter starts.
Here’s the kicker:
“The vast majority of our players are good people people who work hard to be the best that they can be.”
As opposed to, say, the team’s franchise quarterback.
We’d say it’s remarkable to hear such strong words by the Rooneys about Roethlisberger, but it’s hardly the first time.
