Chargers minicamp one-liners

Chargers undrafted rookie RB Shawnbrey McNeal left school early in hopes of taking care of his mother.

Said Chargers NT Cam Thomas of being country strong, “I’m cornbread fed. I grew up in the country and grew a base
of strength just by living out there. When I started using weights
on top of that, I got a whole lot stronger. You build up by moving
tractors, lifting cars and pushing houses. Then you start with the
real workout routine.”

Chargers S Darrell Stuckey talked about the benefits and drawbacks of the team being so shorthanded on defense this weekend.

RB Ryan Matthews has been the focal point of the Chargers weekend rookie orientation.

T Nick Richmond’s size and athleticism are reminiscent of other Chargers offensive linemen past and present.
