Two rookies who participated on a tryout basis in the Atlanta Falcons’ weekend minicamp were sufficiently impressive to earn contracts.
The Falcons announced today that they’ve signed defensive back Daylan Walker and quarterback Eric Ward.
Ward is an Atlanta native who threw 61 touchdown passes during his college career at the University of Richmond. He also had 1,406 yards and 22 touchdowns on the ground. The 5-foot-9, 177-pound Walker played at Arkansas State.
A day after Falcons owner Arthur Blank noted the importance of drafting college graduates, the Falcons’ announcement made note that both Walker and Ward have already graduated from college.

Go Falcons!!!!!
I just hope the defense shows up this year.
Yay!
These are merely camp bodies, Ward didn’t take a single snap with the 1′s, 2′s or 3′s at camp this weekend.
Why do DB’s for the Falcons always stand around 5′ 9″?
Blank wants college grads to play football, lol.
Let the high school dropouts go work at Home Depot or something really dumb like that.
