DeSean Jackson is a young, energetic receiver who has experienced a lot of success very quickly in the NFL. He is just the kind of receiver the Eagles need, because they’ve had a bunch of monks for the past 11 years, aside from T.O. and maybe Freddie Mitchell (and his big mouth).
All DeSean does is talk about how he is excited about how young the team is this year, and that he is looking forward to Kolb being the quarterback. What else has the nam said/done?
If you want to point your finger at anyone, point it at McNabb, who has a history of being overly sensitive. He had it under control until T.O.’s second year, and then he started acting like everything the media asked him was annoying and a waste of time. While that is probably true, as a leader you have to show the face your team needs to see, not what your insecure little ego feels like showing. McNabb was definitely jabbing DeSean via the media, which is the equivalent of a high school senior picking on a freshman.
In this case, the freshman has already shown a higher ceiling of potential than the senior did in 11 years.
