Clint Ingram weighing offer from Saints

Shortly after the NFL draft, free agent linebacker Clint Ingram paid a visit to the New Orleans Saints. Now he’s considering signing with them.

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that Ingram is weighing an offer from New Orleans and could end up joining the Super Bowl champions.

Ingram is a restricted free agent, but the Jaguars withdrew their tender offer to him, which means he’s free to sign anywhere and the Saints wouldn’t have to give the Jaguars any compensation if they sign him.

The Saints could use a linebacker after starter Scott Fujita signed with the Browns. Ingram started 12 games for the Jaguars last year.

Hey Clint, you’ve taken one visit & have had one offer since the Jags cut you loose — use that college education you received from Oklahoma and sign the dotted line.

Ingram is a solid OLB, nothing really spectacular though.
The Saints have signed a few ex Jaguars over the past few years.

Agreed Ingram has a chance to go to the Superbowl champs and compete for a starting spot. What the hell is he waiting for?

The Saints like veterans to bring along the young blood…
Dunbar looked like he had potential last season till he busted his knee.
Jonathan Casillas looks like a sleeper to me though… super-fast and physical.
GW used him in situational stuff towards the latter part of the year.
Only Clint Ingram (and the Saints) know how much he’s got left…
    I haven’t the foggiest.

What is there to weigh? Stepping on the field with the SB champs and a SB contender for a bunch of money to play a kids game?
Seems like a no-brainer to me.

I’d rather see the Saints go with Stanley Arnoux or Jonathan Casillas

Solid player, good teammate. Gave Terrance Knighton his nickname. Pot Roast.

Reggie Bush aside, the Saints are pretty smart with their money and are not the type of team to over pay. I’m sure the offer on the table is fair, but not spectacular, just like Ingram. He’s a good, but definitely not great OLB. and I’m sure the contract reflects that.
He’s probably debating whether or not to sign the only offer on the table now or hold out and see if another team loses an OLB in camp. Then his value might go up. Tough decision.
I like Ingram and I hope he signs with The Saints. We would have a great camp battle between Ingram, Arnoux and Casillas for the starting spot and some soild depth on the roster.
Saints are having a great off season, especially given the “final four” restrictions. Just need one solid DT and a back up QB and we’re good to go!

Ingram fits the Saints personna …. good player who is hungry and doesn’t break your bank.
With the firepower the Saints have on offense, the defense only needs to be good.

Gee an RFA with no other offers. Join the SB champs or stay unemployed…. hmmmm tough decision there. WTF is this guy “weighing”? He better sign on the dotted list as fast as he can write before the Saints withdraw their offer too.

…and with the 1st pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select…
