Mark Sanchez participates in drills

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez’s return from offseason knee surgery took a step forward on Monday when he participated in drills at the team’s first day of organized team activities.

Sanchez took some reps in 7-on-7 drills and went through the quarterback drills but didn’t take part in the full team drills during the OTA. Sanchez had surgery to stabilize the patella ligament in his left knee in February and started jogging on grass last week.

“Mark looked good throwing the ball today,” cornerback Antonio Cromartie
told The Associated Press.

In other Jets news, nose tackle Kris Jenkins and linebacker Jason Taylor both missed the first day of OTAs. Jenkins is making his way back from a season-ending ACL injury and there’s no timetable for his return to the field. Taylor was at a charity event in South Florida on Sunday night and is expected to participate in Tuesday’s workout.

Some of the healthier residents at the facility walked about, played shuffleboard, and watched a local choir perform.

Mark Sanchez sucks, only JETS fans would tell you otherwise. Hell, Chris Johnson — a RB — had 50 less total yards and 1 more total TDs than him. Pathetic.
Sanchez, Matt Ryan, JaBustus… all fakers. Looks like Flacco was the only real QB to emerge…

Hahahahahaha, Wets, get use to it, old tired JT don’t like to work out in the off season anymore, last year I went to 6 training camp dates & he did nothin but stand around like he was royalty. good luck with him, the only reason he signed with New York is so he can be on Hard Nocks and keep his name in TV.
HOLLYWOOD JT is what you should call him now. lmfo.

League officials have today approved Boobie Krafts request and beginning in the 2010 the NE franchise will have earned their new name, the Fuxboro Cheatriots.
In a further developement Bill Belichick was honored with the title Cheater of the Century.
The Cheatriot faithful will furthermore be known as the most pompous aholes in the Country.

lol ampats…i like reading ur comments cause some of them are pretty damn funny, but i must admit. you make my hatred for the patriots grow more and more by the day because of your hatred for the jets and desire to spend all of your time commenting about the jets and less on your own team.
for that i applaud you and you are def the #1 jet hater on this website…itll be nice to beat the shit out of you guys week 2 in the newark meadowlands.

sirsupersouthern. your arrogant and know nothing of NFL quarterbacking. instantly saying a rookie QB sucks…we will continue this thread a year or two from now when he progresses into a probowler. btw as a rookie was in the AFC championship…granted he didnt get them there, but he didnt make any mistakes in the playoffs until he had to face peyton the great. your arrogant, ignorant, and have no say about NFL quarterbacks especially after a rookie season.

He needs to do a lot more than participate in drills. Sanchez sucks and as a Dolphin fan I’m excited the Jets moved up in the draft to get him. He will never be anything special you can tell by his mechanics he does not have what it takes to be a solid pro QB. He will be a backup within the next 4 years.

Did you watch Week 2 in the Meadowlands last year? I’m a Pats fan and what I saw was them get their asses handed to them by the Jets in the Meadowlands. So although they may have owned the Jets in NJ in years past, the most recent game there that was not the case. I’m just sayin….

  20. ItalianArnyGuy says: May 18, 2010 8:47 AM

    Belichick is a cheater.

NYJALLFINGDAY… Even as a Dolphins fan, I actually think Sanchez will end up being pretty good (and look forward to years and years of the Henne Vs. Sanchez rivalry).
But when you were trying to say that Sanchez wasn’t that much worse than Flacco, citing Sanchez as having ONLY 8 more interceptions than Flacco probably wasn’t the best way to make your point.

  22. ericthred says: May 18, 2010 9:58 AM

@knucklebucket…everyone saw that game in week 2 when the jets and their fans blew there load way to early in the 1st 2 minutes of the season beating the patriots for the super bowl.i heard it splattered all over SexyRexy’s back and he made Mark Sanchez lick it all of.

If I’m a Jets fan, I’m praying to god that Shonn Greene doesn’t go down. Without him, they’re toast.

Talent+Experience+Great Coaches= A Good Team if not a Great Team.
The negative posters are green with envy. Pissing their pants in fear of the Jets.
Jets have a great roster with a good mix of young and old TALENTED players.
Sexy Rexy is the real deal.
12 and 4 Afc championship game and possibly Super Bowl.
    #1 defense improved this year.
Offense: who gets the ball? Holmes,Edwards, Cotchery, Keller, Greene, Tomlinson,Smith, Richardson ,McKnight or even Woodhead???
So Phins and Pats fans, no farts don’t have lumps. You just sh*t your feety pj’s

  26. Spygate Operative #1 says: May 18, 2010 11:03 AM

BTW Sanchez was much improved in the playoffs when every game is single elimination. Nice to know he can handle the pressure. He’s no Brady yet but he did not choke like Henne did down the stretch!!!

  27. NYJALLFINGDAY says: May 18, 2010 4:10 PM

Normally, i’d agree with you but he had one 5 interception game, and one 4 interception game. 2 games kinda tanked his average, who is to say he doesn’t have a decent game without those interceptions, but who is to say what happens if Nate Kaeding makes those 3 field goals… That’s the NFL for you. I’m looking foward to this season.

  28. dhrodgers52 says: May 18, 2010 4:39 PM

    Are you kidding me?
Half of you guys are complete morons. Sanchez was a rookie. I’m sure you were saying the same stuff after Peyton Manning’s rookie season considering he holds the record for interceptions and now look. You can’t judge after one season, but oh wait…he was the quarterback of the other team to make it to the AFC championship…
You guys are probably right…he is going to suck…along with Matt Ryan, who also led his team to the playoffs his rookie season. But wait, Flacco is the only good one…if I recall he sucked against the Colts and Bmore got humiliated 20-3, while Sanchez threw two touchdowns and it was the Colts defense that stepped up.
You guys are all douche bags and get the hell away from our message boards…get a life
