Fins will see a new 19 this year

TedGinn.jpgWell, it’s apparently settled.  After weeks of being a man with a team but without a number, Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall now appears on the roster with the number most recently worn by a guy who would have dropped the “1” and the “9” if they weren’t stitched to his jersey.

Marshall will wear No. 19, Ted Ginn’s old number.

The former Bronco prefers No. 15, but Davone Bess won’t give it up.  And since Bess isn’t likely to be cut or traded, it’s unlikely that Marshall will be inheriting No. 15.

Especially after the 19 jerseys start to sell.

Meanwhile, maybe the woman in Denver who is turning old Marshal jerseys into Tebows will open a location in Miami for turning Ginns into Marshalls.

the dolphins front office should just take it out of bess’ and marshall hands’ and just give the number to marshall and make bess pick a new number,it is the choice of the org, they can do what they want with numbers

I can’t wait to see the new #19 explode this year. And by explode I mean, kick balls around in practice and drop shit on purpose because the Sparano the Fat yelled at him too loudly.

  11. DenverFinFAn says: May 19, 2010 12:11 PM

Come on Marshall, you’ll have your real number by camp? I’m too excited to proudly wear your jersey let alone watch you take the Dolphins back into the playoffs. Little note: Just tell us now your number is going to be 85…..I already have my #85 jersey on hand ready to sport!

Dear Dolfags, Why do you have to mention the JETS everytime you open your mouth?
You are nothing but losers living in a town full of pathetic teams.
    Go back to Cuba!!!!!!

That shows how ignorant you are, Manolo. Do you think every hispanic in Miami is Cuban? There are lots of other latinos here, but then again we shouldn’t expect much from a Jets’ fan.
Loser Teams? Wait.. when was the last time the Mets won a World Series? Marlins won it in 97 and 2003, and they have only been around since 93. What about the Knicks? Heat won it in 06. What about the Jets? ROFLMAO Fins won it in 72 and 73 which is more recent than teh Pathetic Jets.
So, other than the Yankees, which the Marlins beat in 2003 in the World Series, the Florida Teams have won more championships as of late. Do some fricken research before you open your trap.

No one cares what his # is. What we care about is whether or not he can have another 100 catch season as become this missing piece to this Dolphins team

Show’s how stupid you are. When was the last time that NY had to celebrate anything over any Miami team? Let’s see we swept the Jets last season, last time the Yankees played the Marlins in the World Series what happened? Oh yea you lost, and the Knicks buahahahaha! Get over it… Sanchez will show his true colors this season and the Jets will implode like the Lakers when they had all those big names and couldn’t win it (Malone & Payton)… Jets = Redskins GAME OVER!

  16. Sanchize says: May 19, 2010 12:30 PM

It wont matter what number he wears, because you wont see a 19, 15, 85 or any number he could try to wear, because for 2 games out of the year, the only number youll see his direction is a 24.

  17. finsbooyah says: May 19, 2010 12:31 PM

    @MANNY,
It looks to me like you are the pathetic one. Trolling even the most pointless posts about the Dolphins to make hateful comments. Someone must be a bit insecure

  18. BornSlippy says: May 19, 2010 1:08 PM

Won’t mention Boston teams in this jets dolphins fight since it wouldn’t be a fair fight.

  19. 3Ply Stagliano says: May 19, 2010 1:10 PM

Why do some people keep saying Miami should take Bess’ number away from him and give it to Marshall? The latter is obviously a superior player but that doesn’t mean the former should have to bow down and give up his number.

  20. dolphinfiegl99 says: May 19, 2010 1:13 PM

Yay! Now I Dont Have To Buy A New Jersey!
I’ll Just Put Duct Tape And Write Marshall On The Back!

  21. lifelongphinfan says: May 19, 2010 1:17 PM

sanchise- i think you are right we will see 24 all over him trying to bring him down and he probly will bring him down. but what makes marshall such a beast is he will continue to test revis and before games end he will have just plain out worked revis and you guy’s will loose twice to us again this coming year.

  22. CTifer says: May 19, 2010 1:18 PM

In his OTA press conference, he said it wasn’t set in stone yet. The number may change.

  23. rayray1284 says: May 19, 2010 3:37 PM

He didnt make this his official number yet. he said in his press conference that he will have a # by training camp. so dont go buying the bootleg jerseys just yet.

How do you know Sean Smith and Bryant are such good friends? :) I mean there isn’t another meaningful guy playing in the division with # 24… unless…
Oh…. you don’t mean that other guy who wears #24 for the Jets do you? The one still choking on Ted “butterfingers” Ginn Jr’s dust on that 50 yard bomb from last year do you? What was that JAG’s name again???

why on Earth would they do that? Bess is a good player who has led the team in receptions and was a #1 guy (basically) for Henne last year. If Bess was training camp fodder, that’s one thing. But you’re talking about a guy who’s been on the team for two years and a starter.

  28. Cap01 says: May 22, 2010 2:42 PM

haha worry about 24? you can’t mean the guy that let Ted ginn jr get his only receiving touchdown of the year from 53 yds out. Ted ginn blew up Revis Island, now Marshall is going to sink it. Im not to worried about 24. You guys should probably worry about something more important like how your going to stop 23 & 34, Proved you guys can shut it down pretty well on that monday night game. Oh wait no never mind 6 seconds left and 23 ran it in.
