Kurt Warner isn't waffling

Last night, we posted a blurb regarding speculation that quarterback Kurt Warner could be returning to football, if as it appears he won’t be finding work during the NFL season in television.

Not so, Warner says.

“Sorry to all of you that may be holding out hope of a return!” Warner writes on his Twitter page.  “I am done and have plenty to do!  But hope to stay involved with [football]!”

So even if he doesn’t find a way to stay “involved with football,” he apparently won’t be re-involved with football as a player.

Either way, he’ll be working the Iowa-Arizona AFL game on Friday night, which will be televised by NFL Network.  It’s his chance to generate some buzz in the hopes of staying involved with football on his own terms.

It’s too bad that Kurt has retired, the NFL needs more good God-fearing men to confront the legions of drug-abusing atheists that have infiltrated it.

They also wouldn’t have won their first one, if that stupid Tuck Rule wasn’t called. That was the worst call in the history of the world.

Warner can always go back to stocking shelves at the grocery store.

I still remember 1999. Green goes down in the preseason, Vermeil freaks. He’s ready to hire Hofstetler. Martz says to Vermeil to calm down, Warner will be fine. I remember that first game against Baltimore, all of us not believing Martz. Warner kicked ass, no previous NFL experience, and i said “Holy Schlirt”. In highsight, it might be hard for you non-STL area fans to relate. But we watched that first game, and remember the Rams sucked, like today, and seeing Warner running that Martz offense was so startling. Holt Bruce Faulk. It filtered down to the rest of the country over the season, but my god, for those of us with that first game of the season, we saw things that just were not possible. I thought this is really great football. I never believed in could end in a Superbowl.
But these things were possible, and the Rams won the Superbowl.

wow florio you just can’t give up can you?. what part of I am done don’t you get?instead of saying he is sticking to his word and staying retired you have to say he “apparently” won’t be involved in football as a player.just because he shot down your attempt at starting a controversy where there is none is no reason to try and distort what the man said.again read what he said as far as coming back, I AM DONE! I don’t see the any room for any interpertation other than what he said.face it you were WRONG!

Brett Favre would be wise to take a lesson from Warner in how to end a career the proper way.

  20. Drat says: May 19, 2010 4:05 PM

Yeah, the Patriots cheated v the Rams. That’s an established fact. What’s your point? We’ve moved beyond that, I think.
The Pats got their first Bellichick-Brady superbowl win because they totally mauled the Rams receivers, against all rules before and after. Smash Bruce to the ground from the start, and the officials were like ‘OK.’ Everyone acknowledges that was illegal. That’s the way the game is played. Bellichick thrives on cheating others. Glory to him. He honed in on the one critical fact: –the Rams receivers will kill you unless you kill them. Rules be damned.
And i wonder which fatass married bitch Bellichick is skrooing now? Maybe he and Roethlisberger have discussions.l…

Hey Superfan, the Tuck Game came a couple years after Warner won his first Super Bowl.
I don’t know why anyone would expect an intelligent or relevant comment to come from an inbreeding Raiders fan, though …

  25. bluestree says: May 19, 2010 4:42 PM

@Drat; I remember how blown away I was when I finally saw the Rams in the playoffs. They had sucked so bad the year before they had no nationally televised games! I learned my lesson then and there. I immediately started pirating directv so that would never happen again!
