Macho Harris moves to cornerback

Macho Harris has moved from free safety to right cornerback in Philadelphia.

Jeff McLane of Philly.com reports that at today’s OTAs, Harris was lined up exclusively at right cornerback. That’s where Harris played at Virginia Tech, and he says he’s happy to play there -- or wherever the Eagles’ coaches tell him to play.

There ain’t no disappointment at all,” Harris said. “Wherever the team needs me or whatever the team needs certain players at certain positions [to do], we’re professional athletes.”

Harris won’t necessarily stay at right cornerback into the regular season, however. The competition at right cornerback will include Ellis Hobbs and from Marlin Jackson, whom the Eagles signed in March but who isn’t fully recovered from a torn ACL he suffered in October. If Harris doesn’t win the starting job, he might move back to free safety.
