First, former Cowboy center Cory Procter stopped by Denver to meet Josh McDaniels.
Then he moved up one coach on the Parcells coaching tree, and saw Bill Belichick and the Patriots on Wednesday.
Procter is logically finishing his tour by visiting the real thing — the Big Tuna — on Thursday, according to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com.
Parcells grabbed Procter off the Lions practice squad in 2005.

What’s your definition of a coaching tree?
McDaniels worked for Belichick, and Belichick worked for Parcells. Does that make McDaniels part of the Parcells tree? Not in my book. If you start looking at it like that, everyone is related in one way or another.

Just an interesting article on the coaching trees. Found it informative.

Hence a “tree” you retard.
what is this crap, the six degrees of kevin bacon!?,let it go
So many posts about Cory. It’s starting to resemble Proctor-ology.
Nuckinfutz, you must prune the hell out of your shrubs.
I know you’re trying to say McDaniels is a Belichick guy, and I agree, but the branch is there.
Perhaps its just a scrub….
Florio and I share a common ancestor. Her name was Lucy.
Josh McDaniels never worked under Parcells
If you want to do it that way you could say that McDaniels is part of the Biggie Munn coaching tree too. McDaniels worked for Belichick, Belichick worked for Parcells, Parcells worked for Chuck Fairbanks, Fairbanks worked for Frank Kush, Frank Kush worked for Dan Devine, Dan Devine worked for Biggie Munn.
Want to include Sid Gillman? Fine. Mc Daniels worked for Belichick. Belichick broke in under Ted Marchibroda, who worked for George Allen, who worked for Sid Gillman.
You can take these things in any direction you want to include almost any coach that you can think of. I’m sure that we could find a way to trace McDaniels back th Knute Rockne if we try hard enough.
Bottom line is that McDaniels never worked for Bill Parcells. He is a disciple of Bill Belichick. Trying to link him to Parcells is a stretch.
What about Ray Perkins? After all he hired the big over rated slob . maybe it should be called the Perkins tree.
