Your Jets boast of the day, courtesy of Mark Sanchez

So this nifty little quote was actually said on Thursday, but we missed it the first time around.

Mark Sanchez, reflecting on his recent trip to the White House:

“I knew we were scoping out this territory and we’re coming back in
February,” Sanchez said. “That’s in the back of your head. Now, Brick [D’Brickashaw Ferguson] and I will know
where to go, so we’ll just lead guys around and throw in a tour.”

Honestly, we enjoy the confidence from the Jets. It makes the offseason more fun and it will make the season more fun in New York whether the team does well or crashes and burns.

On the field, Sanchez has surprised people by looking sharp earlier than expected after knee surgery.  It sounds like Sanchez has a chance to be a “full go” for June minicamp, but coach Rex Ryan isn’t making any promises.

At least about medical matters.

UPDATE:  Video evidence of Mr. Sanchez’s chat:

vomit!….At first I was actually kinda enjoying the whole transformation of the Jets. But all this publicity and bravado is getting out of hand. Rex Ryan may have a handle on motivating his team well ,but now they’re just taking on this persona of big mouth blowhards. they are setting themselves up for a spectacular fall on their faces. And I can’t wait hear the thud.

Thats what happens when you haven’t been there in over 40 years. People die, and the rest go senile. There’s nobody left who remembers except for one guy, and he’s usually drunk.

Damn these boys are cocky! LOL can t wait to see how my retooled Cincy Passing offense looks against the Jets when they see 5 pasing options instead of 1 in 2010.
Everyone is also crowning their corners as the 3 best to roll out there in Revis, Cromartie and Wilson(Rookie)
But Cincy will roll out Leon Hall(6 INTS in 09, J Joseph 6 INTS in 09 and the newly rejuvenated Adam(formerly Pacman) Jones who on early reports Mike Zimmer(DC) says looks like a 1st corner breaking on Balls from Carson and pickin off JT Osullivan and taking it to the house alredy…..
Yeah shit might be a little different in this game as opposed to the 2 matchups in 09′

How are the Jets the clear favorite in the AFC East benjaminbreeg? They are a team that will crumble under the weight of their collective egos. How often does having a team like them result in a ring?
They have drops mcgee, I mean Braylon Edwards, Smokey McPot Holmes, Ladanian “I swear I was likeable 4 years ago” Tomlinson, and a QB who had similar stats to Brady Quinn but still managed to get a massive ego.
The Jets, to me, are my favorite team to completely collapse and go 7-9. The Rexorcist is the NFL’s version of Ozzie Guillen.

  36. Hatten says: May 21, 2010 12:16 PM

A lot of talk from a team that was 2-4 in their own division last year, add in 3 more losses to NO, JAC, ATL and take back the gimme from the Colts and your 8-8.
If you were really a top notch team on the way to the White House after the SB, you would have won all or most of those games, losing only to NO and maybe a division loss or 2.
I liked all the talk at first, the NFL is becoming too PC for me, but you need to be able to back it up. So far, the talk just makes you look foolish.
$100 says these guys fall flat on their face this year when they walk into games expecting the opposition to lay down in fear of their roster and all their high priced free-agents.
Its too bad, was starting to like this team before all the talk got old.

But hey at least they made a lot of offseason moves, every team in the past that had on paper a top tier team went on to win it all,oh wait, dont the chargers get appointed every year for the past 6 years and havent won yet,but ya gotta love the confidence this 2nd year qb has after he threw for 12 tds and 20-21 ints, thats a good ratio to have right!?!?

Please, Miami swept you last year and if it wasn’t for the colts resting their players you would have lost. Sanchez will have show his true talent this year, or the lack of talent! There is no clear favorite in the AFC East seeing how last year every team was more or less the same. Just because you have a team full of “has beens” and “has nots” and names that will sell jerseies doesn’t make you the clear favorite.
Ive seen this formula before, Miami tried it with JJ and every coach after that until Tuna came in. All old and has beens! Good luck Jets on winning 7 games this year…

At this point, I think the Lions could give the Jets a run for their money. Jets will be weaker in the middle of the O-Line with a rookie and the Lions now have Suh, Reevis vs CJ is a good matchup, Stafford has another year to get better, and the Jets aren’t going to be as good running the ball.
In a game, Jets v. Lions, I’d give the Jets maybe a field goal edge, but it could go either way.

The problem is, all the brain-numb obnoxious Jets fans will believe this hype and somehow feel like they are owed a SB win because Rex and Sanchez promised them. And when they don’t get the trophy (and I think everyone outside of NY/NJ knows they won’t) they will become even more obnoxious because they are bitter. It’s a downward spiral.

God, talk about winning the SB w/your mouth

The Jets were swept by the Dolphins home & away last year.
Start small – focus on beating the Dolphins, THEN worry about the Superbowl fellas. ;)

I agree with Midwests comments above this is an 8-8 team looking at there schedule. 9-7 at best.
I can’t wait for these cocky loudmouths to get knocked on there ass. They are providing a ton of motivation for there division and the AFC as a whole.

Obviously, you’re not missing any ‘?’, I think you used enough for everyone, glutton.
Also obvious, you’re stupid and can’t spell Rachel, correctly. Only morons add the extra ‘a’.

All you Pats fans that think the jets didn’t deserve to be in the playoffs are funny. Since we did better than you guys. I smell a lot of jealousy. coming from New England. Miami fans are just pissed that other than the Jets, they couldn’t beat anyone else, and had to watch the playoffs with the Bills fans.

I love how excited Phins fans are that they swept us for once. If we swept you, you wouldn’t be seeing this much excitement. Sweeping the Phins happened so many times in the past 10 years, that it really stopped being such an amazing feat.

as a bills fan i have this strange feeling of wanting the jets to kick some ass this year. i think their refreshing. ryan is a scream, they are young and drivin, revis is a class act….etc. plus they represent the greatest city in the usa. go jets!

Talk on the field where it counts.
Wasn’t that long ago Rex was leaving messages to fans asking them to cheer… Now you are already SuperBowl Champs! What a differince a year makes.
Oh wait, the Saints are the Champs, the Colts are the AFC Champs, and the Patriots are the AFC East Champs. I must be living in an alternate universe? Well what in the hell is Rex talking about then?

  88. mrzazz41387 says: May 21, 2010 7:36 PM

I can’t wait for everyone to jump out of band wagon nation AKA the Patriots fan base. It is safe to say that 60-70% of Pats fans weren’t fans before their 1st Super Bowl. Now that the Jets and Dolphins have leveled the playing field, and will soon push you guys into 3rd… The Pats will return to being irrelevant.

I just wrote a movie script and it is going to become the highest grossing film of all time and win ten Oscars. What? Just talking about being a winner doesn’t make me a winner? But there is nothing wrong about boasting about being a winner when I am not yet a winner. Of anything.
Well, you are all just losers and haters. Because really, it’s going to happen and then I will be invited to the White House. And I will get Mark Sanchez’s autograph because he will be there too.
No, really. Because I talk and act like a winner. And that makes me one. So there! Pffffttt!! I’m going home now to build me a big ass library to put my Oscars in.

This year they’ve won it before camp even opened!

    Not really.
For starters the Dolphins aren’t the ones here talking big about winning Superbowls during the OTAs – the Jets are. Second, my post only said we swept you last year, which is a fact. I’m not really excited about it, but let’s be honest – if you can’t beat a 7-9 team in two tries, maybe you should set your sites on taking care of business in the division first, before you talk Superbowl.
And just for fun, if you want to cite the past (which means nothing right now, glad you brought it up), I’ll gladly point to the two Superbowl rings and the undefeated season. No need to talk about the past, really, as it has nothing to do with anything – but if you want to bring it up….

u ppl dont know shit. pats dont have welker for the beginning of the season and brady cant do shit without him. so thats a jets win. and u dolphin fans think ur the best cuz u got marshall. welcome to revis island and the #1 defense. jets all day and u know it u scared little bitches

What happened to Revis Island and the #1 defense last year? Fins swept you with an inferior receiver(Ginn).
Look, let’s be realistic. Do the Jets have a good team? Yes. Should they be the favorite to win the division? No.
The Pats won the division last year. They still have Moss and a hurt Welker. To me, they are still the favorites until someone else wins the division.
Your offseason aquisitions are clear cut great or bad. Just lots of “Hmmm.. what ifs.”
If they play well, then maybe, but also, they were available for a reason. So don’t start counting your division title yet, skippy.
