Michael Bush isn’t going anywhere

Teams will probably continue to call the Raiders about the availability of running back Michael Bush, according to Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune.

But for the first time in his Raiders career, it’s clear that Bush is staying put. “There’s no chance” Bush will be dealt, as Al Davis would insist on first-round compensation in return.

Tom Cable talked about opening up the running back position to competition early in the offseason, and he’s stayed true to his word. Bush has received first team reps alongside Darren McFadden, and seems to have a good chance to start.

The Raiders situation is reminiscent of the Saints backfield. McFadden is Reggie Bush, the overhyped top-five pick that is a quality role player and factor in the passing game.

Michael Bush is more like Pierre Thomas, the less costly back that is more trustworthy and ultimately more valuable.
