Andre Johnson "not pressing" for new deal

Andre Johnson is back at work and has a new agent. With the new representation comes a new approach to his desire for a contract.

“When the time comes for it, it’ll come,” said Johnson on Monday.  “I’m not pressing anything or anything like that. Hopefully, it’ll all work out.”

Johnson says his uncle will remain involved in contract negotiations as an “advisor” but Kennard McGuire has taken over agent duties.

“We just felt comfortable with him,” Johnson said of McGuire. “He’s been recruiting me since I’ve been in college.”

That was at least seven years ago, making Johnson a guy that plays very hard to get.

That goes to show you, that AJ’s uncle was the one behind all this BS. AJ is happy and has always been happy. His uncle has been the one stirrin up stuff. AJ will retire in a Texans uniform.

    I still love Johnson.
It’s OTAs in May – Optional Team Activities. If he wants to make an impression about his standing with the team, now is a perfectly acceptable time to do it. Until he’s sitting out camp or – God forbid – games, I’m perfectly fine with all of this. He got talked into a crappy deal by his uncle and is quickly realizing that was a terrible decision. Perhaps the Texans will work with him on it.
AJ will retire in a Texans uniform.
    I hope so.

Wait a minute, “he’s been recruiting me since I’ve been in college”? Doesn’t that mean that McGuire was recruiting AJ while he was in college? Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s against NCAA rules, and could be an admission of inappropriate behavior on the part of the agent. Was this just poor grammar, or did AJ just admit to a pretty big blunder?!

It takes having ‘class’ to recognize others with it, so anyone that continues to think Andre Johnson doesn’t have ‘class’–most definitely lacks it themselves.
A classless individual would continue to be a holdout, for instance: Chris Johnson or Terrell Owens, or any other enumerated, yet less noteworthy players sacrificing ‘class’ for more money. Think of what they’ll spend that extra money on; there’s your F’n ‘class’, ChillyP.
Crybaby? Queue the clip of Andre busting up Karlos Dansby & several Cardinals’ DB’s en route to a TD. It sounds like Andre has burned your team more than a few times, crybaby.

    Chilly,
I don’t know what the hell your thinking, or what planet you are living on, but saying Andre Johnson is “not a class act” COULD NOT BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!!!
Nothin but a CLASS ACT. He had a terrible QB in David Carr throwing to him for 4 year and you never heard a peep out of him. 2-14 losing season and he still was the 1st to arrive and last to leave and never publicily B*tched.
If you recall, His dumb aSS Uncle came out in ESPN magazine last time @ this year sayin bogus things about “If the Texans dont go to playoffs were not going to stay around”
Days later Andre said “That is not true, I love the Texans and were so close”
    HIS UNCLE is the dumbass.
Lastly, here is the Quote of Andre Johnson last week.
“I didn’t feel right being at home,” Johnson said. “That’s not me. I never miss OTAs. I’ve always been here, so I came in. I’m man enough to say that it was (out of character for him to be a no-show). I’m disappointed about it. I talked to everybody (in Texans’ management). There are no grudges and I don’t have any grudges toward them. We’re just going to move on. ”
Can you even imagine any other player in the NFL, much less a receiver saying something like this?
    Dre’ is FIRST CLASS!!!!!!
    15, 10, 5, TOUCHDOWN ANDREEEE JOHNSON!

    Yea, I doubt it
His agent will keep pressing for a deal and I bet that if he produces again this season, he will get it
    He is worth it

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA Well of course the two slack yaw Posters (texansin2010, CleanSlaton) don’t appear to have any blinders on… His agent (Uncle) speaks for him and represents him. If he didn’t say he wanted to be trade or wanted a new contract then why would his Uncle say that and why would he miss OTAs? People don’t tend to come out and say that for no reason…. I’m sorry I burst your little bubble of AJ being a class act, but when you act like a little baby and get pwned by your team you only have one choice……Suck it up, Apologizes and hope the Texans don’t make you serve the full contract. Also the Texans really are a team to be scared of, when they’re not throwing HB Passes from the one, there trying to lose the game Copter style. You two SUCK UPS have no class which is the funniest thing.

Not one person or team would pass a chance to
have Andre Johnson. Unless you’re a dumbasscrat.
