Show me the article that states the holdout gained him an additional 8 mil in guaranteed money. Everything I read said that it was basically the same contract with an added year, and harder to reach incentives.

Bryant won’t hold out. Eugene Parker gained nothing in his holdout with Crabtree last year. In fact, they added a 6th year to the deal, and now the only way Crabtree can make a ton of money, in his first contract, is if he makes the pro-bowl pretty much every year.
It was a bad deal for Crabtree, and Parker doesn’t have the balls to try something like that again…that, and Bryant wasn’t drafted 10th overall…it’d be incredibly stupid to try and ‘bust the slot’ when it’d only gain him a couple hundred grand.

Dez Bryant could break hs legs and Dallas would still have the fire power at WR. If Roy Williams actually does push himself into maximizing his potential then you’ve got Miles Austin and Wlliams to man #1 and #2 and possibly Crayton and Ogletree in the slot.
Two years ago when they got Williams, I was against it because I thought that it took away from Crayton and that it was hurting the growth of their younger receivers like Austin and Hurd. Even without Williams, I felt that the Cowboys had its most talented group of receivers since the days of Pearson and Hill and I still believe that.

Actually, you are the idiot here. Throwing for 4483 yards means nothing when you can’t produce in the big game. Peyton Manning was the king of the choke artists until he finally led his team to a Superbowl and he’s had tons of stats.
Romo will always be labeled a choke artist until he take Dallas to a SB. It’s not a bad thing since you can’t be a choke artist if the expectations aren’t there. He just has to get over that hump.

You’re not keeping up with this very well! Jerry said a few days after the draft that the Cowboys told Eugene Parker before taking Dez that they would absolutely not pay him anything but what he was slotted to get wherever he is taken. Dez has wanted to be a Cowboy his entire life. The deal will be done long before the season starts.

The Crabtree situation is different, as BillinDC commented. In addition, the Cowboys’ situation is different than the 49ers. The 49ers needed a #1 (or at least a #2) wideout to start almost immediately, putting the pressure on the team to make a deal. In this case, the Cowboys have all the leverage because they don’t really need or expect Dez to play a major role right away.

True, but the Crabtree situation was a good bit different than Bryant’s. Bey was picked at #7 and Crabtree was j#10. Anybody with an IQ above single digits (except the Raiders apparently) knew that Crabtree was a much better WR than Bey and the difference in money between the 7th pick and the 10th pick is substantial. Not so much the difference between 22 and 24.
There was only one WR taken ahead of him and that 2 spots, so what’s Parker going to do say ‘ Bryant should be paid more than Thomas because he ‘should’ have been picked in the top 10.’? In the bottom picks of the 1st round (20-32) the money is pretty much slotted. Parker can ask all he wants, getting it is another thing and I doubt he has Bryant hold out over $200K or so. That would be senseless. I don’t see Bryant holding out at all, he hasn’t seemed anything like the Diva that Crabtree was behaving like last year. He’s a good kid and wants to play, he knows that a holdout will prevent him from getting on the field (look at how much Crabtree played last season) as much.
Good job at trying to create a controversy where none exists tho.
