Whats the big deal? The “Greatest Game Ever Played” (Colts/Giants NFL Title game) was played at freakin’ Yankee Stadium and is considered to be the birth of Football as our true national past time. It was cold the day Unitas gave to Ameche! Toughen up people. Dallas in Feb = cold, Indy in Feb = cold, it’s NYC, so it being outdoors means nothing. I bet anything this will be a HUGE SUCCESS.

The Super Bowl is more than a game, its an event for a weekend.
To say Green Bay should have one based on tradition is retarded.

I’ve been to Miami. The only time it looked looked better than the ghettos of Rio De Janeiro was after the hurricane. Then you could pretend that all the trash and filth was only there because of the storm. Besides, we all know Miami is where elderly NYers go to die. Gotta love a city where they start serving dinner at 3pm.

People want to go to the Superbowl because of their team; spend a week in a city with goings-on right around the stadium. I’m sure the idea of getting a tight fade in the East Rutherford area may be appealing to some, I would rather go to sunny local bars. I want to get a cab right down the road, not drive over to NJ from NYC.

We can all go back and forth on this til we’re blue in the face, but now that it’s official this story will die off pretty quick since the game isn’t for another 4 years. All I’m saying to all the nay-sayers is wait and see. I know you’re all hoping it turns out terribly so you can say I told ya so but I think you’re gonna be pretty disappointed with how well it works out.
Obv the southern cities are just pissed cuz they won’t get the economic impact of the game that year, but who cares, Tampa will prob get it in 2015 and Miami after that.

Looks like even the high and mighty NFL will sell out to the big market.
As much as I like the idea of a Super Bowl played in the elements, it tarnishes the tradition. I can already here fanboys of teams who lose say, “If tis game wasnt played in the snow……”
And for the love of god Packer fans, there is no way in hell a SB will come to Lambeau. Your city cant even house enough people for a regular season game. WTF are you smoking if you think anyone would want to go to GB for Super Bowl weekend?
Chicago, Denver, hell, even KC. At least THOSE cities have the room and ability to host something more than a County Fair.

Let me get this straight, They want to hype a New York City Super Bowl but play it in a swamp in Jersey and expect Super Bowl week to be packed by reporters? New Jersey is the most expensive state in the country and news papers and organizations are broke, let alone the lack of hotel space, everyone is going to be staying at the Hampton Inn in Newark.
Then people talk about the weather, shit a snow game is the best case scenario, more like blistering winds and freezing rain. “Football is mean to be played in the weather” yes, that’s why you win homefield advantage for the playoffs not the netural site Super Bowl where weather conditions are meant to be zero. Before anyone brings up Super Bowls IX and XLI realize that’s freaking two raining games in 44 and both of those super bowls were turnover and penalty filled.
BTW what happened in the Northeast this past super bowl sunday? Oh it was buried under 4 feet of snow. I realize that doesn’t happen every year but it is a possibility. Why take that chance NFL? What if you have to postpone the game? Throw in the fact that besides football there is the pomp and circumstance that surronds the game which cannot be hampered by weather.
Meddling Goodell and his greed. What the heck is wrong with just playing in the Rose Bowl every year, oh I know no corporate suites………gizzzzzzzayyyyyyy.

I dont like it and I wouldnt want one in NE or any other cold climate either. I’ve been to several SB’s. It’s the outdoor events, parties, and ability to walkaround and shoot-the-shit with other fans that makes the week leading into the game so awesome. I think all of that gets crushed by the cold weather climate.
