Tennessee Titans kick returner Mark Jones said last week that he’s “really anxious” to return to the team. But he won’t get that chance.
Titans coach Jeff Fisher said today that the team plans to release Jones.
“With the young guys on the roster and the depth chart, we just felt we’d give Mark an opportunity to catch on some place else,’' Fisher said. “With the injuries and everything, it just didn’t work out.’'
Jones is recovering from surgery to repair a neck injury, and has also struggled with a hamstring injury that cut short his 2009 season.
