Haynesworth faces paternity suit

Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is being sued by a pregnant woman who claims that he is the father of her unborn baby and that he is refusing to support her financially.

The New York Post reports that Silvia Mena, described as a “Brooklyn exotic dancer,” is nearly four months pregnant and claims in papers to be filed in Brooklyn Supreme Court that Haynesworth has refused to have any contact with her after learning she was pregnant in February.

Haynesworth has abandoned the pregnant Silvia Mena,” the court papers say. “He has refused to provide any emotional or financial support of Silvia Mena or his unborn child.”

Her lawyer, Salvatore Strazzullo, told the Post, “This man is worth millions. She has had to apply for Medicaid to take care of her pregnancy.”

Get this joke OFF of the Skins.

What a shock. Hundreds of babies out of wedlock by NFL thugs.

What a stand up individual Haynesworth is.
Hey, any chance the rat knew this news was coming?

Then I guess this chick can learn not to go BAREBACK.
If she gives up the rock and doesn’t take account of the consequences (it’s her body and her right to abortion) then she should pay the price.
Tired of hearing about women who have the right to control THEIR bodies and abort babies and then expect MEN who have no rights at all to take responsibility.
Think of this scenario. Chick gets pregnant but wants and abortion. The father wants the child. He has no rights and the woman gets to abort WITHOUT his consent.
Woman gets pregnant and the father doesn’t want the baby. She keeps it and makes him pay and he has no say.
I always grew up hearing “those who take responsibility have the power in this world”. Well if the women have all the POWER, then they should learn to take responsibility! AMEN….Kirk out.

  6. GaryClark says: May 26, 2010 7:51 AM

Hey Albert…Maybe you should try and report to camp? Sounds like all the dirt that you are doing is leaving a trail of prego strippers and angry team owners.
You are not bigger than the stripper union nor are you bigger than the NFL fatso.

  8. Drat says: May 26, 2010 7:57 AM

Here’s how money flow works in the NFL. Fans pay pocketfuls of money to go to games, which then filters upwards to the owner, who then showers this money on spoiled boys called “players” who then filter the money back down to stripper and groupie babies, who then grow up to be NFL fans, and start the cycle anew.

  11. BroncoBourque says: May 26, 2010 8:11 AM

I think it is fair for Haynesworth to demand proof that he is the father of this unborn child before giving this woman a dime. Given her line of work, it is not unreasonable to believe that someone else could have planted the golden seed to make this unborn child. That being said, the only way to force Haynesworth to take part in a paternity test is to file a paternity suit. I will hold off judgement on Haynesworth until we see his actions if/when he is found to be that father.

4-6 game suspension, this besmirches the Shield.
Or maybe it doesn’t, probably not, but it could, depending.

  17. Terry says: May 26, 2010 8:22 AM

This IS NOT a threatened paternity suit, though I’m not sure where this lawyer is headed, unless he has come up with a possible breach of “oral” contract theory.
Paternity can ONLY be established after the child is born and DNA is taken from child, mother and alleged father. AFTER paternity is established, than and only than, will father be required to pay support and medical expenses.
This inexperienced lawyer is jumping the gun a bit!

  18. Florio-is-a-tool says: May 26, 2010 8:27 AM

  30. Sociofan says: May 26, 2010 9:21 AM

Yeah, I’m with BroncoBourque and others who will withold judgment on this one. Albert might be guilty, but the dancer might be looking for a sugar daddy to pay her medical expenses. Wait until the child is born and then figure out who the father is. If it’s Albert, I would hope that he would do the right thing without a judge telling him he must.

  31. tb2010 says: May 26, 2010 9:24 AM

Um, last time I checked Tom Brady never got publicly called out for being a deadbeat dad, idiot. The only thing he has been chastized for is being TOO INVOLVED in his son’s life and as a result has missed voluntary workouts. Not quite the same as Haynesworth.
But I do agree that women really do have all the power in these situations. If this chick wants to keep the baby and he doesn’t want to, he shouldn’t have to provide for it. It’s her own damn fault for being a stripper and having unsafe sex. It takes two to make a baby and it should also take two to decide how to deal with the aftermath. This woman should just get an actual job with benefits or she should have an abortion. Funny that these rippers are always getting knocked up by rich men. I guess they make sure there’s a condom involved if the guys poor. Before Big Al pays her a dime there better be a paternity test involved.

I have to agree with BroncoBourque , Terry and Santonio’sBluntWrap – just because some stripper claims there is a little Albert brewing in her belly doesn’t mean a damn thing!
Until tests are given and results published i would not pay a dime let along show any sort of acknowledgment….i personally knew girls in college that would go to rap concerts hoping to sleep with the dude to either claim a bogus rape charge or really had the intentions of getting pregnant!!!!!!
Have we not learned anything from the Duke Lacrosse incident…that being said if it turns out the child is Albert’s he better own up and be a man….
His trade stick just plummeted and i am sure that Big Ben is happy he is out of the headlines….

He had say in whether or not to use protection in the first place. He didn’t so now he lives w/ the consequences.
If you don’t want gold diggers taking advantage of you in a paternity suit (conceding that she’s a gold digger for the sake of the argument) then carry your own protection and use it. Its not that difficult.

The Redskins were fortunate indeed to acquire such a civic-minded, responsible, and hard-working individual as Albert Haynesworth. A virtual pillar of moral rectitude and purity of both motive and conduct, his game day performance and off-the-field deportment is sure to charm and delight sports fans throughout the D.C. metro area for years to come.

Silvia Mena did a dirty dozen guys that week along with Albert. Time for another episode of Maury Povich: “Albert, you are……………. NOT the father of Ms. Mena’s baby!” (crowd roars, Albert smiles & tears up with joy, Silvia smirks & grumbles in disappointment). Back to little Puerto Rico for her.

If Haynesworth really is the father, then she should have to give the baby up for adoption. If neither one is responsible enough to use protection during the act, then I don’t see how either one is responsible enough to be a parent.
I’m not a Haynesworth fan or defending him, but the lawyer’s last comments about how much money he has makes me think this is a shakedown, legal extortion if you will. I’ll reserve further judgement until after the baby is born and a DNA test is performed. Until then she’ll have to rely on food stamps and medicaid, just as she would if she didn’t know who the father was. She’s just as responsible as whomever the father is.

Wait for the beginning of mandatory team activities and start fining him for conduct detrimental to the team for every possible violation – no showing, talking crap about his role, not lining up properly, improper parking, cutting in the chow line, anything!
Come on, Albert, be a man – pay for the kid if it’s yours, pay the guy you ran down, pay the Redskins back for your theft and get the hell out of town!
If Albert won’t be a man – which he won’t – then, come on Bruce Allen, you be a man – put action behind your “restore the Redskins” act and force Little Danny to eat his pride and cut this cancer! Tell him to sue Vinny for the $32m! Hail!

I find it interesting that a professional stripper hasn’t gotten pregnant until a football player with a lot of money screws her. This happens too often. I am not a fan of his but how many times do athletes seem to get woman pregnant and having to support her (I mean the baby) for the rest of her life. Athletes do need to be smarter, but woman always take advantage and get away with it.

Albert will not get stats as a NT so even if they win, he will complain
Even if they have to take a financial hit, they need to ditch him just to get him out the locker room
