Hate to break it but Crabtree is never going to be a great receiver. He’ll likely be solid posession WR along the lines of a Keyshawn Johnson.
I was not at all a fan of the DHB pick but one thing that comes across clear is that this kid is a hard worker and anything but a diva. With that mentality/work ethic and his clearly superior athleticism he could easily prove to be the better pick of the two.

Ok I think Raiders fans are getting a little too excited here. I’ve read a few comments predicting the Raiders winning the division. I am
not saying it’s not possible, and it is the worst division in football, but you are asking for a big step up. Let’s say you guys win 8 games. That seems fair looking their schedule. It is possible to win the dvision at 8-8 but idk if I see the Chargers only winning 8 games. I know they are complete crap in the playoffs but they usually get it done in the regular season. I agree that the Broncos will probably do worse than the Raiders. I like the Chiefs and think they are getting
better but think the Raiders are better this year.
Chargers 9-7
Raiders 8-8
Chiefs 5-11
Broncos 3-13
As far as DHB goes (assuming he doesn’t get injured or benched) I bet he gets 30 catches and 3 TDs. Still not great but at least he is going up.

Are you a Raiders fan? If so, your post blasting Tony Snow doesn’t make much sense. If you had done your research, you’d know that the Raiders were ranked 26th in total Defense last season. Yes, their pass defense was ranked 7th, but their run defense was 29th. I’d say that defense was a problem as well–hence the decision to let their LB’s be traded. Hell, when they played the Bengals last year, they allowed Bernard Scott, the Bengals’ backup RB, to gain over 100 yards on the ground. Know what you’re tlaking about before you spit noise at someone else.

Why are the Chargers expected to fall? Because they got rid of LDT and Cromartie and replaced them with an upgrade in fresh legs at RB and a more technically sound CB?
I’m no Charger fan but this team is on par with where it was last year if you ask me, or better with the rejuvenation at RB. Some Q’s on defense, but that O is ready to rock.

DHB has been working hard in the off season is the biggest reason for his good practices. Cable has said this before, but why listen when you can work JRuss into the story?
Yeah it is an OTA, but he didn’t have good non-contact practices last year, so I’m glad to hear of improvement from this hard working character guy. He won’t be the one to say it, but when it comes time I’ll be here to say I told you so.

(I dont give a shit that Callahan took them to the SB in his first year, that was Gruden’s team, and he embarrassed them in that game)

Gee… ya think? There’s a reason he was a highly rated WR coming out of BC, and it isn’t just because he was fast. For the 1st time in his college and professional career DHB has quality and consistency at the QB position.

I think it’s fair to say that the Raiders suck until they don’t. If they make a reasonable run in the division this year, that would be real progress and Raider fans should be encouraged. If they do more than that, it’s gravy. I’m not a Raider fan, but I recognize that the league is better off when they are in the mix.

I agree though I’d be shocked if Denver even sniffs 8-8. They jettisoned their 3 best offensive skill players (Cutler, Marshall, Scheffler). Their All-Pro LT just sustained a serious injury. They parted with the defensive coordinator that finally made that unit successful. They took a WR who’s only ever run fly patterns and a QB who won’t help them for a few seasons at the top of the draft. I think 6-10 would be a cautiously optimistic prediction for the Donkeys.
The Chiefs should be better, but it’s no sure thing they’ll be dramatically better.
The Chargers are crumbling. If Rivers ever got hurt that team would be 4-12. I see an 8-8 season for them this year — just like in 2008 — only no playoffs this time.

Raiders 10-6
Chokers 8-8
Chefs 7-9

Lets see ……38.25 million over 5 years is an average of 7.65 million per year. 7.65 million divided by 9 catches is $850,000 per catch.
J Russell got 31.5 million guaranteed and played 3 years which comes out to 10.5 million/year. He threw 3 TD passes last year. That is $3.5 million per TD pass.
