Dolphins linebacker Reggie Torbor was released Thursday, a victim of a high salary and a crowded position in Miami.
According to NFLPA records, Torbor was set to make $3.05 million this year and next. He was set to battle for playing time at inside linebacker with Channing Crowder and Tim Dobbins behind free agent pickup Karlos Dansby.
Even though Crowder’s status is uncertain for the start of the season, the Dolphins didn’t feel it necessary to keep Torbor around. Torbor started two games last year and recorded 37 tackles with four passes defensed.
