Ryan says Sanchez is ahead of schedule

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez is recovering from knee surgery and not participating in team drills during OTAs, but coach Rex Ryan says Sanchez has made more progress in his recovery than the team expected by this point in the offseason.

“He’s doing fantastic,” Ryan said Thursday. “He’s probably ahead of where we thought he’d be.”

While Sanchez recovers, Kellen Clemens is running the first-string offense in team drills. An overeager Sanchez actually participated in one play of 11-on-11 today, but Ryan got him off the field after a handoff.

“I was like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa! What’s he doing?”’ Ryan said. “It’s a run. Oh, OK. . . . Hand the ball off, and get out of the way.”

Sanchez is able to run on the Jets’ grass practice field and expects to be 100 percent before the start of training camp.

I’d say this pretty much makes a Superbowl win inevitable. Might as well give the Jets the trophy now.

Sanchez=more overrated than Eli Manning. New York has the battle of the overrated going on right now.

Handing the ball off is all he can do anyways. That cocky, pretty boy, dirty Mexican throws a ball about as ugly as his lard ridden gluttonous head coach.

Interesting to see how ready he is when the blackbirds come to NJ to bring some reality to the Chico and the FAT MAN show. Reed to the HOUSE to start the season sounds about right.

I want to see how well he does when he has to make more than one read on a play.
Right now I don’t think he’s the real deal.

‘He already sucks ass. We really weren’t ready for him to start sucking and choking until mid-August, which is ahead of schedule.’

i cant wait to watch the jets go 8-8, and i also cant wait to watch Rex Ryan pull a Charlie Weis and put all the weight back on after they get their ass kicked by the Patriots.

“He’s doing fantastic,” Ryan said Thursday.
Didn’t he say the same thing about Gholston this time last year?

I’m not sure if you understand the word “choking.” Sanchez played his two best games of the season in the playoffs against San Diego and Indy

Great news! He’s on track to throw more INTs, less TDs and stuff more hot dogs in his face than last year!
