Tebow already moving up Broncos' quarterback depth chart

Just five weeks after the Denver Broncos took him in the first round of the draft, Tim Tebow has already taken a small step up the depth chart.

Although Tebow started fourth on the depth chart, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that Tebow has passed second-year quarterback Tom Brandstater on the depth chart.

During today’s organized team activities, Kyle Orton was working with the first offense, Brady Quinn was working with the second, and then Tebow was working in ahead of Brandstater.

Obviously, as a first-round draft choice, it was just a matter of time before Tebow moved ahead of Brandstater. The big question is how much longer he’ll be behind Orton and Quinn.

Wow, Tebow passing Brandstater on the quarterback depth chart is like the time David fell the mighty Goliath with his single stone.
Little known fact: Both David and Goliath have not thrown a pass in the NFL, either.

Bring on the Tebow haters to claim this is a mistake. Especially those turds that “guaranteed” he wouldn’t be drafted before the 7th round.

Cue up the Tebow haters, insults on his religion, and how stupid McDaniels is. I never get sick of that.
By the way, can we get some more Ray Lewis is a murderer, Belichick is a cheater, and Rapelisburger comments? Those are always gold.

Well, congrats to Tebow, he reached the pinnacle of his career faster than anyone could have anticipated. He is less talented than both Orton and Quinn, and is a rookie. He wont be above 3rd on the depth chart barring an injury

He may not be conventional, but if you get some good RBs he can hand it off to, and a good core of speedy recievers that can get some YAC since he doesn’t have the biggest arm….I think Tebow can do just fine in a few years. You can question his throwing ability but you absolutely cannot question the kid’s heart and work ethic. I don’t particularly like him, but I dare anyone to doubt him…you’ll be proven wrong in due time.

McDaniels hasn’t said anything stupid in awhile, but I expect that will change about two hours after we see Tebow in a regular season game.

Call me when your 1st round draft pick accomplishes a little more than passing your 6th round pick from last year.

  30. Halasfan says: May 27, 2010 2:47 PM

Why is it Kyle gets no respect? He wins like six games in the role and gets benched for Grossman. He then has to spend a couple years fighting Rex for a job. Then he gets traded for a guy who is great…. who hard more wins last year?
Lets compare full season at QB
    Kyle in ’05 was 10-5 w-L
In ’09 his team went 8-8 which is sadly bette rthan my Bears did and the same as Jay did last year with the Broncos

McDaniels has to move him up, with the direct relationship between his tenure in Denver and Tebow’s success. But just another example of how poor that draft was for the Broncos. McD was reportedly real high on Brandstater, and now he’s below a rookie. Huge Broncos fan, but the best thing I can say about them right now is we’ll have some more high draft picks to use (or not) in the near future.

I don’t understand that Orton had a pretty solid year and the Broncos trade up in the draft to get Tebow. It would be one thing if Orton blew chunks but for being on a new team in a new system I was shocked that he did so well. If McDaniel’s decides to put Tebow in the game over Orton I think it is safe to say that Josh will be fired the following season. Tebow is not a NFL QB, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out. If it wasn’t for his stand up character, Tebow would have never been drafted.

as far as I know his agent Jimmy Sexton does not have a history of holding out clients but its in the best interest of both Tebow & the Broncos to get him signed before training camp…

I can’t believe there are still people that support Josh McDaniels. The idiot tried to trade his starting QB because he knew he was willing to over-reach to draft a rookie QB who more than a few think will never be a starting quality QB in the NFL. He doesn’t give players a chance when they perform so that he can start others that will only just get by or worse. Like LanMan said, Brandstsaer will be a starter one day. Tebow will too, but Tebow will because Josh will see to it. On 31 other teams there’s a good chance that he never would start a game unless there are injuries. Josh is a complete fool and last year was just a preview of his stupidity. This year will take it to new heights.
